Re: [libreoffice-l10n] Pootle is now down

2011-06-21 Thread Tseng, Cheng-Chia
As a translator, I think that easily accessible and stable translation
service is more important than what the service platform is run on.

If we are keeping encountering problems like this, I suggest cooperate
with Transifex.net service. They have done a very stable translation
platform.
Furthermore, many open source projects also cooperate with them,
including Fedora, Mageia, MeeGo, xfce.

For example, transifex does not support ts file (Qt translation)
before version 1.0. When MeeGo project decides to use Qt as their main
toolkit, Transifex.net developed that feature for MeeGo in 1.0
version. And now it is quite easy to translate MeeGo on Transifex.net.
I believe Transifex.net will happily to cooperate with LibreOffice
too.

So if we cannot get Pootle server running well all the time, please
consider use other ways or platforms to provide better service for
tranlstors.

I'm sorry guys for the inconveniences, but this scheduled maintenance
was announced on this mailing list by Christian Lohmaier on June 17.
Pootle has been moved to a bigger server.

Best regards,
Andras

Thanks. I have not noted the information. :P

However, I was not blaming on Pootle or related people, that's just a
suggestion from mine. :)

[libreoffice-l10n] LibreOffice Magazine International is organizing with sign-up sheet

2011-06-21 Thread Marc Paré
With the help of the *Brazilian team*, an effort to organize an
international version of LibreOffice Magazine has been created.

If you are interested in participating, on a regular basis, to the
production of the "LibreOffice Magazine International" (the
international EN version) please feel free to sign-up on this page[1].
As there are many different posts to fill, it would greatly help if you
could let us know of any skills that you wish to bring to the project.
Feel free to view the "LibreOffice Magazine Brasil -- Collaborators
" page for an
example of some of the tasks that you may be able to fill. We should
also acknowledge the Brazilian team who has offered its help and
expertise with the production/structure of the magazine.

You must be willing to use the LibreOffice suite as the tool of choice
for the full production -- Writer and Draw are the modules most used in
the production of the magazine. The LibreOffice suite is the tool by
which the magazine will showcase its abilities to serve as a
professional tool.

Cheers,

Marc
