KX-T: kxta-624 KVS-50 won't hang up when caller hangs up-help please
ever since switching to comcast cable telephone for my provider my kvs-50 does not appear to receive enough of a drop in voltage after a caller hangs up for the kvs-50 to stop the recording secquence. The result is that it records the message "If you need to make a call please hang up and try again, if you need help please dial zero for the operator, msg blah blah blah" Boy is this anoying! Panasonic says its the problem of the provider, in this case comcast cable, and I'm sure they will find nothing wrong if I could only take a day off of work to try to let them in to see the problem. help please multipart/alternative text/plain (text body -- kept) text/html _ KX-T Mailing list --- http://kxthelp.com/ Subscription changes: http://kxthelp.com/mailman/listinfo/kxt
KX-T: Phone problems fixed...... the old fashioned way
Complete the circuit An elderly lady phoned Verizon to report that her telephone failed to ring when her friends called - and that on the few occasions when it did ring, her pet dog always barked right before the phone rang. The telephone repairman proceeded to the scene, curious to see this psychic dog or senile elderly lady. He climbed a nearby telephone pole, hooked in his test set, and dialed the subscriber's house. The phone didn't ring right away, but then the dog barked loudly and the telephone began to ring. Climbing down from the pole, the telephone repairman found: 1. The dog was tied to the telephone system's ground post via a steel chain and collar. 2. The dog was receiving 90 volts of signaling current when the phone number was called. 3. After several such jolts, the dog would start barking and then urinate on the ground. 4. The wet ground would complete the circuit, thus causing the phone to ring. Which goes to show that some problems can be fixed by just p-- (wetting) on them. _ KX-T Mailing list --- http://kxthelp.com/ Subscription changes: http://kxthelp.com/mailman/listinfo/kxt
KX-T: KXTA 624 and 7030 phones flexable buttons
Howdy! Can anyone suggest a good use for the flexable buttons #'s F1, F2, F3, F4 on my KX-T7030 sets on my home/home office system with a KXTA 624 and KVS-50? I'm assuming Flexable means they can do something useful. What might that be? I just went in and out of programming to try to reset the time and date. It is turning out to be the date that is the problem..in particular the month. It was the month that wouldn't display properly. I found that entering programming with password and reprogramming the time and date in slot 000 did not help. KX-T: External/off-site paging
Do any of the KXTA or KXTD systems allow you to call in from off site and make an "all call" page over the speakerphones. If not, is there a work around to allow this? Doug _ KX-T Mailing list --- http://kxthelp.com/ Subscription changes: http://kxthelp.com/mailman/listinfo/kxt
KX-T: Off site paging
The only paging from off site, I am aware of, is either a pre recorded announcement ie "I have a call for" + mailbox name or using Caller ID "Caller ID Name" + "is calling". What I am in the need of doing is calling in and getting an open mic, like hitting ICOM 339, only from off-site. It's kinda hard to believe there isn't a way to do this somehow. _ KX-T Mailing list --- http://kxthelp.com/ Subscription changes: http://kxthelp.com/mailman/listinfo/kxt

Re: KX-T: kxta 6-24 one touch and speed dial
OK wow that was it! Thank you again! I figured that wasn't neccessary since co1 was primary when you hit speakerphone here. KX-T: New job spec's
I received the following request for bid and am wondedring if which, if any, panasonic system might do this. Amoung many questions is the capability of any system to handle 9 seperate door intercoms with built-in pinhole cameras. I know Aiphone interfaces with KXTA units, but although the kxta624 does 4 intercoms, If I remember correctly each 2 share an extension. I don't think they even need an Aiphone setup since they will have the cameras connected to digital video recorders and can be on their network anyway. We have installed a few kxta's and a kvs50 also. What about the kxta848 I've been hearing about? Or if digital is the only answer, assuming the doorcam thing is an option, is anyone in the Boston area interested in providing this system for us. Wires will be provided by union with terminations, programming by us/you. We have much other equipment going in here so we won't miss it. Anyway the spec will follow for anyone who is interested. KX-T: New job spec's
Is there a Panasonic system to meet this spec? Doug The PBX system must have the following features: 1. Expandable to multiple chassis if required 2. Compact size. It will be installed in an enclosed rack. 3. Support 5 small businesses 4. Support door intercom and provide contact closure for access system 5. Voicemail system that can store 100 hours of messages 6. Voicemail system that can support 3 businesses 7. Option to export messages to file server for archiving and/or a CD burner 8. Configurable by administrator via client or web browser The approximate quantity of phone sets are as follows: 6 Advanced sets 22 mid-range or basic sets with display 4 mid-range or basic Wall Mount Sets with display There is no need for a "Receptionist Set". The PBX system must support Door Intercoms. There are approximately 9 intercoms, indoor and outdoor styles that need to interface to the security access system. We envision that a call from an intercom be a single button for most intercoms but multiple buttons for the main entrance. The call should show up as a unique extension on the phone system and be programmable to the number of extensions that the intercom calls. We envision a single key press will open the appropriate door. The intercom will house a pinhole color camera that will be connected to an independent video surveillance system. The camera should have the following qualities: high resolution, color, low light performance. The roof door and front door intercom will be the only ones that will be exposed to direct sunlight. These cameras may need an auto iris. _ KX-T Mailing list --- http://kxthelp.com/ Subscription changes: http://kxthelp.com/mailman/listinfo/kxt

Having a srtange problem that just started. I have only one extension with two phones: one propriatary and one SLT. Re: KX-T: KXTA blues...
FYI I have Vista loaded on my new machine and it works [fairly] well, with some pretty handy little improvements over XP. My big problem was my software not being Vista compatible. I found MS has a free download for Vista Ultimate (I think it works with some other versions also) called virtual machine that they support, it works quite well for me and it should bridge the gap until manufacturers rewrite their software. Don't forget to get the latest update for VM and turn on the ports you want to use from the setup screen. My work laptop is also my personal laptop. When I'm on the road, I want the fastest and best cheap box I can find. My Compaq developed a problem with the ratchets in the lid. It won't stay in any position and it died after Vista was foisted on the general public. I went to Bust Buy where I have a rewards card, and they said it would cost about $60 in parts and $200 in labor to fix the Compaq. Hmm, M processor, 2 years old I'll take one of them there new-fangled Pee Cees for $500 or maybe an extry $100 for the upgraded memory and HD., Out the door I walk with an Acer, thinking that I can pick up an eBay toughbook for $600 or so and have 2 boxes at 1200. In a couple of evenings, I got all of my pet software and files loaded, Office, Netstumbler, Hopertrm, Panasonic Progs, Music files and progs, etc. On the 10th day after purchase, the mouse pad died! Back to the geek squad who told me that it was fatal and I should exchange. No Acer, so I picked up another HP. Now I'm $800 into this project and I get to reload all the above mentioned programs again! The other shoe dropped about a week ago when I plugged in my Maxtor USB drive and got an error message. O.K. It's old, I can live with that. When I plugged in my Maxtor One Touch III 200G drive and I got the same error message I'm now officially pissed. The problem, of course, in India English is that HP does not support XP on my laptop model. That's Indian for "you got no drivers, Meester and we don't plan on any. Meanwhile Seagate bought Maxtor, probably before I bought my One Touchguess that's why it was so cheap. I downloaded the patch, but it tells me the drive has to be reformatted. Probably because the drive is FAT-32 and Vista is looking for NTFS. Who knows? Who cares! I am NOT reformatting the drive that works on XP and W2K. They tell me that Dell made Microsloth unhappy for offering XP and Linux (Ubuntu?) on new machines. Geeze, I hope Dell, or anybody, crushes M$. I'd like to but I can't. KX-T: Hot wireless phones
No not stolen..just hot.very hot. 7895 phones. This is the second time a 7895 has done this while being charged - a couple of times on my phone and now on one of my customers cordless. KX-T: KXT-624 caller ID redial
Customer has a 624 systems I installed a few years ago(!)- still working. Should be headed for the Smithsonian soon. Updated firmware a few years back, so not just 20 cid users logged per extension - more like 200 in the KSU (I believe that was one of the benefits of the upgrade). When I hit CID indication button (CO7 I think) it recalls the callers. C08 (I think)toggles the name/number/date-time. 1)How do I redial one of those numbers directly from the list/log? 2)How can I clear the old call list/log? Tried off hook intercom 70*# and it said clear CID list but it did not. Maybe I should have hit store?
