2002-04-28 Thread Dmitry Nikiforov

Dear All,

Great thanks from me and Oleg Zemskov for your Programmator's responces and
ciritics. We continiously work to improve it. But now we need Manuals for
DASH-5 firmware. We designed the last version of Programmator using Manuals
for Russian P271 version in general. We got several emails where you and
other customers points us to errors and bugs when you try to use
Programmator with DASH-5 fimware. Most of it are fixed, but some aren't. We
thing we just don't know some new features, which are included into DASH-5
firmware but aren't included into P271 Russian firmware.

So, now we need Addendum Installation Manual for DASH-5 firmware. We see
that Ablecomm sells 3 additional books for DASH-5 with $145 price. We thing
it's a very high price for us. Can you please direct us to the place where
these manuals are cheaply? We can buy it online or by cheque payment.

You could buy a US version -5 switch and get the manuals free :-)

I would guess that there are about 750 pages in the new manual. I have
mine (over)stuffed in a 3" three ring binder. Just thinking of the last
Avaya Legend manual that I had cloned, I guess that it might cost about $80
just to have the drones at our local copy center make a copy. That's
American dollars and puts it in my hands, not yours.

I don't even know if Valley National sells the new documentation since it
is included in each system. Probably, but they don't open until Monday.
Maybe someone with a dual cabinet will trade you documentation for software.

Re: KX-T: PROGRAMMATOR VOTE

2002-04-28 Thread L . M . Rappaport

I'm definitely not a guru, but I do have and use both programs.
Programmator is a big help, particularly when you want to do the same
thing to a bunch of extensions. You can mark those you want, edit
one, and the changes go to all the marked extensions. Big time saver.

It's lacking a few help files and it won't do everything. On the
whole, I think it's a worthwhile investment.

There are upgrades available, you just have to ask. For example, the
latest version handles the -5 software.

Voice Mail Master is ok, but perhaps not as good as it should be. For
example, you can't currently save what you've loaded as a file, so
everything has to be interactive. Also, you can program Mailbox
groups (for sending one message to multiple mailboxes), but you cannot
program Extension groups (which you might do if you wanted to share a
single mailbox with multiple extensions). That is easy enough to do
with a comm program, however.

Can't help with WinTariff.

Dear Dmitry,

I think you make a good product and have used both the PBX & TVS versions!
=
1.

If you are going to upgrade the "Programmer" I suggest that you include a
start up window so the users can select the version of the chip (Example
o,-1,-2,-3,etc.etc)

There are older systems out there which all the features do not support.

2.
Be advised the new DASH 6 is coming out this June

3.

Please see my we site for information on software ver changes at:

http://www.ntci.net/Telecommunications/Panasonic/Phone%20Systems/KX-TD-Digit
al/ver_options.htm

===
4.
We would also be interested to "BETA TEST" the TA624 software to try to
correct any problems before it is released to the public. Note, attention
must be applied to the voice mail integration.

KX-T: Programnator

2002-04-28 Thread Hello

I think several problems exist with the programnator software.

1. The makers have no relationship with the manufacturer from what I can see. My
experience is that Panasonic changes the software (not just dash level) often for
minor bug fixes. This make the programnator not work correctly.

2. No web site for updates, registration or feedback on problems with the software.
You have to keep asking them if they have a new version!

3. They say they are making a KX-TA624 version but the US version of the 624 only has
a 1 way RS232 port from what we have been told. How can they program, through the
phone?

4. We have used the programnator since very early on and have had some very strange
problems happen on the systems we used to use it on. As a result we don't use any
more.

5. I think the support the programnator give is very good but it is difficult job.

RE: KX-T: Programnator

2002-04-28 Thread [EMAIL PROTECTED]

Agreed,

What Panasonic told our techs is that the -5 version is ADDING two bits of
info and thereby making it unreliable.

However, for the basic home owner that wants to play, I think it's OK, but
the home owner should stay in contact with the certified dealer that sold
him the equipment for additional programming assistance. All the TD1232
units I install have a modem so I can make remote changes for the site
owners. If the site has both PBX and TVS Voice mail I install a small
computer which is directly connected to the system ports so I have access to
both cabinets. Saves me and the customer time and money on service calls.

KX-T: KX-TD308 and Music on Hold

2002-04-28 Thread ELYTEDB

Hello,

I am running a KX-TD308 with a TVS50. I have plugged in a CD player with a
3.5 mm stereo to 2.5 mm mono adapter (doesn't anyone make a cord for this
thing?) and BGM is enabled. I get nothing. I am using Programmator and
Voicemail Master, but have also checked to see if music on hold is enabled
through system phone programming. No music. Does anyone have any ideas?

Thanks.

Oh, only about 3-5 per day :-)

I use a text based e-mail client on purpose. I clean out my attach file on
a very regular basis, like every other day as I still have a file server
running without virus protection (it just collects master e-mail and stores
surplus files)

I send .br, .tw, .ar, Free, and various other annoying Subjects and froms
into the trash. I still have the attachments, but if I delete the trash
and recheck my mail, the attachments go away. Norton filters the e-mail on
my workstation.

The other day I sent a joke out and had to call the customer that I was
sending it as an exe file :-)

I just love the people who write viruses, worms and trojans.

KX-T: Re: Virus Warning Question

2002-04-28 Thread Bob Bruskin

I've seen it come in quite a few times, but not necessarily from this list.
Norton Antivirus 2002, updated , catches it every time. The default is to
quarantine it as it can't be repaired. I alter that to DELETE and then
delete the original e-mail source. My weekly scans are all negative.
