Mark Langford, If you are looking for advice, on how to stick to one
project at a time, to completion, don't ask me. I need the same
seminar.

I need to attend a seminar on "How to concentrate on one single
project and stick to it until it's FINISHED", so are there any
behavioral experts out there who want to give that seminar?

I'm certainly not a therapist but I would suggest that anyone with this
type of concern include at least three words in any action plan they
employ, " prioritize, focus, and limitations. "

A. "Prioritize" the tasks  (write them down for clarity)

B. "Focus" on the task or tasks given priority

C. Recognize your "limitations" in that you can only do one thing at a time

Given enough time you may be able to accomplish them all.

One of my "Observations on Life" is:

"I’ve reached the point in my life where I understand why a Sage is
usually an old person."

Have a good day, keep on building, and see you at the Gathering...

Thanks for your wisdom, Larry. A lot of us were hoping for some expert
advice, from someone with experience, and you seem to have it all
together. John Shaffer

KRnet> Gathering motel

2024-07-16 Thread Larry Flesner via KRnet

For anyone attending the Gathering and staying at a motel, which motel
did you pick.  I live 50 miles from Mt.Vernon but will stay 3 nights in
town for convenience and timing.  Anyone flying in and not camping at
the airport,  I could be your ride to and from the airport.  Advise me
by the weekend. Other attendees might like to know also.

Thanks.

Maybe you just enjoy the round robin approach to projects? If not, a little
software might help. Gantt Project is a free open source app that runs on
Linux, Windows and Mac and is lean and simple to use while including gantt
charts with critical path and PERT diagramming. It has been around for over
20 years and the last update was a few months ago. The only negative is the
Java UI. Not the prettiest.

Another free open source option is Projectlibre. It also includes critical
path features. https://www.projectlibre.com/

KRnet> Speaking of Gatherings

2024-07-16 Thread Larry Flesner via KRnet

Anyone wishing to host the 2025 Gathering at a location near you, or any
location for which you will serve as host, it would serve you well to
make the invitation now, on the net, giving the sales pitch so future
attendees can consider the invitation before voting for the 2025
Gathering location at the 2024 Gathering banquet.

Make us an offer we can't refuse.

Since it is mentioned... How about a West Coast gathering?

8W5 comes to mind since I live here.

I can put up 6 folk on my boat at the marina... there are the marina heads
and 2 bathrooms on the boat.

Maybe a couple more in the hangar and a few in an RV on the grounds here.
 Hangar has a 3/4 bath.

Just saying..

jg

I know.. it's a long trip, but who doesn't want to at least once take on
the rocky mountains?
