Re: [Koha] Import Catalog

2023-09-29 Thread Caroline Cyr La Rose

Hello Bill,

In the last few versions of Koha, all cataloguing tools have been moved
to the Cataloguing module.

There is no need to activate anything if you are already superlibrarian.
Simply go to Cataloguing instead of Tools.

Regards,

Caroline

I am logged in with the Superlibrarian user. When I go into Tools there is
no option to import the catalog and it appears that the Catalog options are
missing in the Tools section. Here is a link to a picture for what I am
talking about. I don't think it will allow me to attach a picture.

How do I enable those menu items under tools?

[Koha] Broken Install

2023-09-29 Thread RACS IT Department
I have an old install of Ubuntu Server 14.04.6 with KOHA installed. I am
not sure how to find out the KOHA version using the command line. It would
be the stable version from around that time.

I cannot get the UI to come up. When I put in the ip of the server I only
get the Apache2 default page telling me "it works". When I add the :8080 it
returns what's in the picture (

I am at my wits end.

[Koha] Redirect / Callback URI

We're setting up Okta as an authentication provider using OIDC but we're
stumped at the moment.

We're seeing the following error:

We're seeing the partial path but it appears to want the full URL string
here. Does anyone have any examples they are willing to share with us?

Re: [Koha] Broken Install

2023-09-29 Thread Eric Phetteplace
Hi Bill,

I can't troubleshoot why your site isn't working, probably an Apache
configuration issue, but you should be able to find the version of Koha by
viewing the Koha.pm file in the root of the Koha code directory. Here's the
file on the Koha GitHub:
https://github.com/Koha-Community/Koha/blob/master/Koha.pm#L32 There's a
`$VERSION` variable on line 32.

Re: [Koha] Import Catalog

2023-09-29 Thread David Nind
Just another thought about this:

I have worked with Koha in the past. Our local install broke so I had to

The cataloguing/import tools don't allow you to import a Koha database - it
only allows you to import MARC records.

So you will need to either:
1. Get MARC21 or UNIMARC records for your bibliographic and authority
records out of your old installation.
  OR
2. Use your old database in your new installation, and work through any
upgrade issues.

Re: [Koha] Error when trying to display item OPAC view.

2023-09-29 Thread Katrin Fischer

Hi Andrew,

this might point to some invalid MARC record:

Field 035 must have at least one subfield at
/usr/share/perl5/MARC/File/XML.pm line 483.

If you have a 035 field, it should have at least one subfield with content.

Hope this helps,

Katrin

I have this with all records so far, the library isn't live yet, but I will
check to rule this out. It could very well be a 035 error across most or
all of the records.

I have a massive amount of authority records that are duplicated. I think I
imported some twice. Is there a way to batch or bulk merge or delete them?

Re: [Koha] Broken Install

2023-09-29 Thread David Nind
I can understand the frustration!

You need to disable the default Apache site configuration (something like:
a2dissite 000-default.conf - sites available and enabled are listed under
/etc/apache2/sites-available and sites-enabled from memory).

Re: [Koha] Error 500 when opening records with attached items

2023-09-29 Thread Katrin Fischer

Hi,

I think you need to check the server logs for the full error, so we can
see what might be the source of the issue.

more_subfields_xml is used to store additional item information that
hasn't been mapped to any of the standard fields. Odd is that $d in
MARC21 should be mapped to items.dateaccessioned, but I am not sure if
this could be the source of your problem.

Are you using MARC21 and have you changed anything about the Koha to
MARC mappings?

Good day Katrin,

I found a few items without item types. I have added these to the items where
they were missing. I still get the error 500. I have run the rebuild, but still
the error is there. Now, all items have the correct home and holdings locations
as well as correct item types.

The error 500 appears when:

Checking out items
Renewing items
Checking in items
Viewing the detailed display of records
Batch editing/deleting items

It looks like where there is anything to do with items, this error appears. I ran a
report that outputs all items fields, and a few have entries in the field
"more_subfields_xml". Here is an example of one entry:

"

   xsi:schemaLocation=""http://www.loc.gov/MARC21/slim
http://www.loc.gov/standards/marcxml/schema/MARC21slim.xsd"";
   xmlns=""http://www.loc.gov/MARC21/slim"";>

a

"

What does this field mean?

Hi,

did you check the itemtype as well? It would also cause a 500 in the OPAC.

Hope this helps,

We have just migrated our database to another server with an upgraded

with attached items.

Records with no items attached to them open successfully in this view.

First guess: The items have no homebranch and holdingbranch. Make sure that
every item has a (correct) value for those columns.

Hi,

Koha uses XSLT stylesheets to display bibliographic and optionally
authority data. Instead of using the default, you can also define your
own - look for XSLT in the system preferences.

But it might also be worth reporting an enhancement request for this one
if it's about following the MARC standard.

Hope this helps,

Katrin

Hello, Bill, have you tried one or both of the following to get your
Koha version?

apt list koha-common
dpkg -l koha-common

Review your site settings to double-check that you're accessing it correctly:

cat /etc/koha/koha-sites.conf | less

Review the Apache configuration to look for any obvious errors:

ls -l /etc/apache2/sites-enabled/
cat /etc/apache2/sites-enabled/INSTANCENAME.conf | less

[Koha] Koha Offline Scanner for iPhone - KohaOS

2023-09-29 Thread Thomas Lehmann
Hi Koha team

I am a volunteer supporting Koha in a small library in New Zealand.
I already sent this mail to this list, but I was asked first to join the list
and resend this mail… what I do herewith, so please ignore my original mail.

While experiencing power outages, where the server and the desktop PCs lose the
power, I had the idea to use the iPhone as an offline scanner.
The iPhone still has power, it has it‘s own scanner (camera), it has it’s own
torch, if needed, and its easy to use. Finally, itsalso easy to share the
result and upload it into Koha.

The result is my KohaOS app in the Apple app store:
https://apps.apple.com/app/id6467831983

I would appreciate, if you find some time to try it out, and to promote it on
your official webpage. Any questions, just ask…

Regards,
Thomas
