I store all my pics on an SMB share that resides on a disk attached to a
raspberry. I have mounted the share using smb4k to
/home/carl/smb4k/192.168.1.55/carl. I can define this as a collection, but
digikam does not scan it for content.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Go to settings/configure digikam
2. Add collection on network share
3. navigate to /home/carl/smb4k/192.168.1.155/carl/ and click choose, then
click OK

As far as I know, no, this is a straightforward installation. I installed it
through Discover in the Neon distro. It got installed from a jammy repo.
When I navigate to the share folder, strange thing is I cannot see other
folders inside it. I can when I point to a local folder on the SSD. But of
course Digikam is running under the same user that can access the share when
mounted.

Thanks for looking into this further. Yes, I think Neon is based on Ubuntu
22.04 (jammy) so you may well be right. I cannot right now test the app image
but will do so as soon as I get back to my own machine and will let you know.
If that works, then I'll raise a bug with Neon.

I just tried the appimage and guess what, it works! Must say a bit disappointed
in the Ubuntu package maintainers. Guess I should go back to a real Debian
based distro
Cheers for looking into this and helping me out. I'd never have guessed this to
be the issue.

[neon] [Bug 481905] New: Digikam package from jammy repos cannot access SMB shares

2024-02-27 Thread Carl
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=481905

Bug ID: 481905
Summary: Digikam package from jammy repos cannot access SMB
shares
Classification: KDE Neon
   Product: neon
   Version: unspecified
  Platform: Neon
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: Packages User Edition
  Assignee: neon-b...@kde.org
  Reporter: carlvanops...@gmail.com
CC: j...@jriddell.org, neon-b...@kde.org, sit...@kde.org
  Target Milestone: ---

The Digikam package that is installed from the jammy repos seems to be packaged
as some sort of container. As such, it cannot access SMB shares, making it
therefore unusable in combination with a NAS.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Install digikam from jammy repo
2. Add a collection on an SMB share
3. Try to scan the collection

OBSERVED RESULT
Collection remains empty

EXPECTED RESULT
All folders in the collection are scanned for images and represented as albums

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
KDE Plasma Version: 5.27.10
KDE Frameworks Version: 5.114.0
Qt Version: 5.15.12

Here is the documentation for KMyMoney:

I recently updated the matomo scripts to disable the cookie tracking following
this instruction (https://matomo.org/faq/general/faq_157/).

This makes the analytics less 'good' but allows us to not have to include a
cookie consent banner since we aren't tracking visitors anymore. It is now just
counting the page views and the returning visitor statistic is less precise
than before but for the current usage of matomo this is more than enough.

According to this video
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JlamLfyFjTA&list=PLKoqnv2vTMUOnQn-lNDfT38X9gA_CHxTo&index=2
from google, a sitemap can be helpful if we have isolated page we want to have
indexed, a very large website or very frequent weekly page.

I don't think we are impacted by any of the three conditions and building a
sitemap for the current php website will be to much work, for to little gain.

We now get B+, it is progress but still not good. The biggest reason we get a
bad grade is because we don't have a Content Security Policy enabled.

I just added a basic one: default-src https: 'unsafe-inline' but to improve it
more we will need to hunt for all the instance of inline js for example
onclick="js code" and inline style for example style="width: 800px". There are
tons of them in the generated changelogs for example :(

I don't know what version of Linux I was running at the time I posted this. It
may have been Neon. At this time I'm running Kubuntu, 22.04 and the issue is
not present. I'm able to select "Automatically switch all running streams when
a new output becomes available", reboot and audio controls are still present
and work. Consider this resolved.

I went to the store and left the system on. When I returned from shopping, the
computer was asleep, I wiggled the mouse to wake it up and that is when the
crash occurred. The system recovered from the crash successfully, but still
reported it. There is no abnormal behavior.

weekend and this happened on my desktop. Here is the output that you requested:

SUMMARY

Salut,

The "Artist" tab is useless for me, because the metadata in my music collection
are to good. Each album contains tons of different artists, because the artist
field include featuring, instead each tracks in a album use the same "Album
artist" field and fallback to the "Artist" field in case "Album artist" doesn't
exist.

My proposal is to create a Album Artists tab or change how the Artist tab
behave.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Open Elisa
2. Open Artist tab

OBSERVED RESULT
See Artist A feat Artist 1, Artist A feat. Artist 2, Artist B feat. Artist 2,
etc.

EXPECTED RESULT
See Artist A, Artist B

I still have the 100% cpu problem with KMail 19.04.

But not always, after killing KMail (I didn't restart Akonadi) and restarting
it, I get a normal ~10-13% cpu.

I will try to find a way to reproduce this bug.

By the way, bootstrap and jquery are now hosted in the CDN and this need to be

Hello David,

Yes the format used for the documentation is the DocBook format, it's an XML
based format. You don't need to learn it to contribute. Other contributors can
convert it for you. If you don't mind, let's move the discussion to #kde-docs
in irc or #kde-docs:kde.org in Matrix. If you have any question, feel free to
ping me. My username is "Carl Schwan".

Cheers,

Carl

[rust-qt-binding-generator] [Bug 395192] rust-qt-binding-generator: unable to compile multi-dimensional list

2018-10-31 Thread carl
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=395192

Sorry for not giving any sign of live. I read your O.2 announcement and
remembered that I posted this bug report a long time ago. I read you answers
and I found your solution a bit 'hacky'. Is where at some point something in
rust, cpp or qt that could forbid to use multidimensional list. I already saw
that the new version don't need #[derive(clone)] anymore and with for example
the new `impl trait` syntax in rust. Can't we not implement multidimensional
list in this binding generator? I not yet very experimented with the model-view
architecture, so maybe I forget something important. I'm looking at your code
right now, and I will try to implement something.

The size is the same for https://kde.org/plasma-desktop and most of the KDE
websites (e.g https://kde.org/community/whatiskde/). The font-size is defined
in
https://invent.kde.org/websites/aether-sass/-/blob/master/css/includes/_typography.scss

The problem is in the homepage. https://kde.org contains tons of hardcoded
font-size and is in the process of being updated completely. See the current
mockup at https://kde.carlschwan.eu.

Hello,

Plasma-browser integration extensions doesn't work for me. As a wanted to find

Firefox the following error message:

Reading manifest: Error processing background.persistent: Event pages are not
currently supported. This will run as a persistent background page.
Reading manifest: Error processing key: An unexpected property was found in the

I not sure if this error is the reason why plasma-browser-extension don't work
(I also tried to use it in chrome and it doesn't work either).

OS: Arch-Linux

I can confirm this bug on Arch Linux with Kontact 5.10.2 (See attachment). I
also found a similar report on reddit
(https://www.reddit.com/r/kde/comments/aq8arx/unified_mailboxes_not_updating/).
The workaround from CnZhx also work.
