[kwin] [Bug 460678] New: Animation speed affects window resize speed

When the animation speed is slower than instant, this makes resizing windows feel laggy in my opinion. This gets more apparent when disabling translucency in the desktop effects. I'm not entirely sure whether this is a bug or expected behavior. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Set animation speed in system settings to instant 2. Resize a window 3. Set animation speed to medium 4. Resize a window, observe window resize effect lagging behind mouse cursor OBSERVED RESULT Window size updates slower when the animation speed is not set to instant. EXPECTED RESULT Expected window to update instantly, no matter which animation speed is set. [KAccounts] [Bug 427063] Can't add Google account in system settings on last stable KDE Neon
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=427063 --- Comment #3 from Sandro --- Going further down this rabbit hole, I found there are signond segfaults in dmemsg that correlate with whenever I click on "Add new Account" in Online Accounts section of systemsettings. It points to an error in libQt5Core.so.5.15.0, and looking into that further (I didn't feel like setting up to stacktrace the error on my system directly), it seems it's an error with qt 5.15 that OpenSuse have fixed in recent months to address this. Should this be re-categorized as a Kde Neon bug to address an upstream problem? https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=427063 --- Comment #6 from Sandro --- Please explain why this is marked as duplicate? The steps to reproduce aren't remotely similar. [KAccounts] [Bug 427063] Can't add Google account in system settings on last stable KDE Neon
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=427063 --- Comment #9 from Sandro --- Sadly, they're both incorrectly tagged as duplicate then. Both the original description of this bug, and #427063 do not properly list steps to reproduce. Please use my steps in my first comment here as reference. This problem only began to manifest with qt 5.15 which is a dependency of Plasma 5.20. I do not know where this bug should be redirected, but it is a KDE Neon (packaging?) bug. It is not a Plasma bug. The problem in #420280 is different, and may well still occur later in the workflow once this is resolved. I'll try to clarify the specifics of this bug, and how it differs from #420280 using sequential steps of what I assume is the expected behaviour with some commentary: 1. Open System Settings and navigate to Online Accounts. 2. Select "+ Add New Account" 3. Choose "Google" --> This is where #427063 is observed. This triggers a segfault in libqt5core.so which can be traced to signond. See [1] and [2] for more, it's been fixed upstream and basically requires KDE Neon to do the same as opensuse did. *** Once #427063 is fixed, the workflow would continue to #4 below. 4. A new window appears prompting to enter Google credentials. 5. Enter username, and password (Nature of this depends on how it's presented in the web view from Google) 6. Upon submission, the window simply goes blank. --> THIS is where #420280 occurs. --- [1] https://bugzilla.opensuse.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1172904 [2] https://gitlab.com/accounts-sso/signond/-/merge_requests/27 -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=426034 Sandro changed: What|Removed |Added CC||liq...@liquidonline.ca --- Comment #14 from Sandro --- I'd like to add some info I found when I was troubleshooting this bug. This seems to be a KDE Neon bug (packaging?), and may or may not be present elsewhere, but i imagine that to be out of scope if we already can confirm it is not a Plasma bug. It was a bug in OpenSuse TW as well [1], and was fixed a couple of months back. At least for TW, rebuilding signond with a patch (since merged) for this MR [2] solved this problem. So while it's an upstream bug vis-a-vis Plasma, it should not be closed because a bug to resolve this in KDE Neon is still valid. [neon] [Bug 426034] Trying to add Google account brings me back to the accounts overview
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=426034 --- Comment #23 from Sandro --- To answer the question as you asked: Source is available at gitlab for signond [1]. You'll also need to use signon-plugin-oauth2 [2] - thanks to Nicolas Fella for uncovering that. [1] https://gitlab.com/accounts-sso/signond [2] https://gitlab.com/accounts-sso/signon-plugin-oauth2 However, to answer your initial question, this is _not_ a "fix" - I don't recommend running it on your daily driver. You have to break your package system, which means spending even more time trying work around that problem. If you're still interested, be prepared to do a bunch of troubleshooting build failures, as well as resolving the (many) broken packages (which you're on your own for btw). Email me and I'll share as much as I can of what i did - I didn't track/document all of the troubleshooting I did to make it work. Your frustrations are valid. Your energy should be posted in that bug however. As we learned here (or at least I did), this package is sourced from ubuntu so they need to take action. [kmail2] [Bug 368060] Replying to html email that has a PDF attachment creates junk in the reply
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=368060 --- Comment #15 from Sandro Knauß --- The current class hierarchy has nothing to do with representation of a specific "mime"-type. And in this hierarchy AttachmentPart is a subclass of TextPart, because AttachmentPart has every property of a TextPart. That's why isTextPart is true for every attachment. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

[Akonadi] [Bug 441214] SMTP passwords aren't being saved
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=441214 Sandro Knauß changed: What|Removed |Added CC||mon...@kde.org, ||skna...@kde.org --- Comment #9 from Sandro Knauß --- KMailTransport (the library that is actually storing the password) is using KWallet directly to store passwords, but using QKeyChain to read the passwords. For a clean KDE environment QKeychain will use KWallet, but for other environments it is using an different backend. That's why only people are affected that are not running a Plasma desktop. You can treat QtKeyChain by environemt variables as workaround: KDE_SESSION_VERSION=5 and XDG_CURRENT_DESKTOP=kde or look at the decision path: https://github.com/frankosterfeld/qtkeychain/blob/master/keychain_unix.cpp#L100 -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
