Sorry, but I don't understand your alternative: what do you mean.
I can add that, on another, pc I saved the folder
/usr/share/plasma/look-and-feel/org.kde.breeze.desktop/, and pasting it in the
other pc, I have now solved the focus issue for the screenlock, but not for the
login.

Thank you. The fact is that the PC which has this problem, is one I use only
now and again. But in these days I am using it.
I noticed the last time that if I detach the usb pen-drive, I can avoid the
freezes/crashes.
I will repeat this also this time.
But after 2/3 days I will put the usb drive and follow the backtrace
instructions you gave me.

I will let plugged the usb-driv today, to see what happens.

I noticed that from today symlinked images are no more possible as desktop

intentional? And why: is is very annoying.

Uhm... it seems that neither no-deep symlinks work. Or rather, they aren't
recognized by the graphical desktop settings window, even, so far, I get now
the no-deep symlinks working. I will do some new test.
But, why this new rule?

Indeed I noticed also that the new rule is against *every relative* symlink :(

[plasmashell] [Bug 482238] New: ctrl+shift keys no more working

2024-03-02 Thread Duns
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=482238

Bug ID: 482238
Summary: ctrl+shift keys no more working
Classification: Plasma
   Product: plasmashell
   Version: master
  Platform: Neon
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
  Assignee: plasma-b...@kde.org
  Reporter: w...@culturanuova.net
CC: k...@davidedmundson.co.uk
  Target Milestone: 1.0

SUMMARY
***
I used ctrl+shift key to symlink a file from a Dolphin (/Krusader) tab to
another (of shift to move). Now I can only copy: no choice with keys.

***

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Open Dolphin and split it in two tabs
2. Try to symlink a file from a tab to another pressing ctrl+shift
3. You'are no more able to do that: the file is only copied

OBSERVED RESULT

ctrl+shift doesn't work

EXPECTED RESULT
ctrl+shift should work

My release is indeed that...
This new behavior is after upgrading to plasma 6 in KDE Neon.
Today I noticed that with shift I am asked (with a pop-up) to choose among
copy, move or symlink, but pressing ctrl+shift the file is simply *moved*,
without any question.

Also in another Pc width plasma 6, I have ctrl+shift not working (even Dolphin
says that that is the right keys combination to make a symlink).
Only krusader in root mode and after a few seconds can create a symlink with
ctrl+shift.
In shortcuts (neither of Dolphin nor the global system) I cannot see "create
symlink" (to try another keys).

Already done (https://github.com/eclipseo/reimage/issues/4)! But the problem is
that the same application (extension of Dolphin) works in some KDE Neon
installations, and not in another one.
The same (the 2.5).
This is why I guess that the problem is something in KDE Neon (some packages?)

I have found where is the problem: in espanso (as service). If I close espanso
(espanso stop), I can log-out and reboot and all.
Strange, but true :)
Therefore I have created a script (espanso stop), made it executable and set as
logout script.
And now this problem is solved.

[dolphin] [Bug 482238] ctrl+shift keys not working in Wayland

This is not a priority. But it would be interesting to find if there is some
application that causes this problem.
I.g. recently I noticed that my persistent problems with power commands, were
caused by espanso: if I close (stop) espanso power commands, such as logout or
reboot, work still.
Maybe something also with ctrl+shift ?

More than 10 years ago I had a problem with shift key (no more working,
nowhere, write was very difficult): resolved deleting clementine (tha audio
player, yes) config: incredible but true.
