STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Open Spotify while KDE Connect has a device connected. 2. Play media. 3. See notificaition panel OBSERVED RESULT Now what happens is there are 2 notifications for the same media, same app. And KDE Connect (given how it will always come after the app) will always appear first and the actual app later. This becomes annoying and happens everytime the media is paused/played even if the KDE notification is swiped away. Reproduce: 1. Use the system normally with KDE Plasma as the desktop environment. 2. The reported issues occur intermittently during regular operations. Expected Behavior: - Stable operation of KDE Plasma Shell without crashing or throwing repeated errors. - Proper handling of Akonadi server commands. - Correct object paths and presence of required plugins. Actual Behavior: - KDE Plasma Shell crashes frequently, leading to core dumps and service restarts. - Numerous handler exceptions and missing object errors. Environment: - KDE Plasma version: latest - Operating System: Arch latest - Kernel: Linux stable latest Steps Taken: - Restarted the plasmashell service. - Checked system logs and dmesg for related errors. - Reinstalled affected packages where applicable. - Cleared caches and temporary files (`/home/$USERNAME/.cache/plasmashell`). ### Additional Information: Attached is the `message.txt` file containing the full logs of the errors encountered. Suggested Fix: - Investigate root causes of Plasmashell crashes. - Resolve handler exceptions in Akonadi server by ensuring required contexts. - Verify plugin paths and correct missing or misconfigured plugins. - Address cyclic dependencies in QML files. - Ensure PipeWire and D-Bus services are correctly configured and reachable. --- **Attachments**: - [message.txt]: Detailed error logs. Your assistance in resolving these critical issues is highly appreciated. Thank you. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

Yeah I was used to do that to correct minor graphic glitches without losing my perfect configuration. But now the problem is bigger than that and I just can't open apps. It's foolish to think that already worked fine till now. They should regress the stable version to one before that didn't had this bug. It shouldn't be considered stable to have such problem Anyway, people often asked me why I've installed such ton of WM. And it's exactly for that, to switch in case something went wrong. So yeah, I use GDE when I can't deal anymore with KDE. About display manager, I already use GDM since long. On this computer I even never used SDDM I think. [plasmashell] [Bug 450068] Use of volatile connector IDs to map containments to screens cannot be made to work reliably and should be replaced with something else
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=450068 --- Comment #21 from a --- I understand I thought about downgrading. But it's difficult because the nature of package managers are to bind all the system together. So to get all KDE group back, as well as it's dependencies, and dependencies of dependencies... I had to synchronize on a server who is rollbacked. And even with that, that would break all the configuration who is made for last version of softwares. That would mean basically that I have to install a whole new system who is jetlagged of non critical update who can keep the path until 2023, to not have to upgrade KDE past a certain version. Maybe it's better to just use KDE But apart from that, can you design the precise version/date of KDE where this mechanism was pushed? From: Nate Graham Sent: Thursday, August 11, 2022 5:55:00 PM To: pingo-po...@hotmail.fr Subject: [plasmashell] [Bug 450068] Use of volatile connector IDs to map containments to screens cannot be made to work reliably and should be replaced with something else https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=450068 --- Comment #20 from Nate Graham --- That doesn't make a difference, and it's already "VHI" ("very high priority") with the work being scoped out. Y'all are just going to need to have some patience, I'm afraid. We're at this place because we tried to move heaven and earth to make the existing connector ID based system work, and as folks have observed, it mostly just made the system even less determinstic and worsened the bugs. That's why we're going to rip it out and use a different source of data to identify screens. But this kind of work isn't trivial; it takes time. If you have to use GNOME until it's fixed, so be it. I understand. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

But whatever the problem it could be, it can't fall in a loop sending messages to journals without any kind of temporization. [kontact] [Bug 327282] Google calendar/ical event gets doubled, i.e. added twice - event visible with no calendar displayed
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=327282 a.key changed: What|Removed |Added CC||a@moronet.pl --- Comment #5 from a.key --- I can confirm that this is still happening on korganizer: Version 5.3.0 (QtWebEngine) Using: KDE Frameworks 5.27.0 Qt 5.6.1 (built against 5.6.1) The xcb windowing system One important thing to add here is that in my case duplication happens in an enterprise environment. When people organize events/meetings through their google calendar web UI an email is sent to participants. kMail shows now a nice GUI buttons to accept reject etc. the invite but at this stage the event is already in my calendar but in an unconfirmed state. When I click on "accept" kmail adds the event to my calendar which is now a duplicate. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=450248 Bug ID: 450248 Summary: [Wayland] Displaying the window thumbnail in Task Manager is very lazy and causes lag in the entire desktop Product: plasmashell Version: master Platform: openSUSE RPMs OS: Linux Status: REPORTED Keywords: wayland Severity: normal Priority: NOR Component: Task Manager and Icons-Only Task Manager Assignee: plasma-b...@kde.org Reporter: behzad.a...@hotmail.com Target Milestone: 1.0 As you can see in these videos, displaying window thumbnails takes a long time and almost utilizes a bit high CPU, and causes lag in the entire desktop; If you pay attention to the movement of the mouse cursor(First video) and how to play the video(Second video), you can see the lag clearly, Also as you can see at the end of the second video, this problem occurs only in Task Manager(Only in Wayland session) and "Window switching" effect works fine. This problem may not be detectable on powerful systems, but it is very annoying in old and low-end systems like my old laptop. [plasmashell] [Bug 450248] [Wayland] Displaying the window thumbnail in Task Manager is very performance-intensive and can cause the desktop to lag
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=450248 --- Comment #3 from Behzad A --- Created attachment 149539 --> https://bugs.kde.org/attachment.cgi?id=149539&action=edit System Journal Log This problem seems to have been fixed in my machine(openSUSE Krypton repo 22-06-05), But I noticed, that if I use the window-thumbnail repeatedly(As I did in the videos), causing massive memory leaks in the kwin_wayland process, especially once a video is playing(MPV(Wayland), VLC(Xwayland) and Chrome(Wayland)) the kwin_wayland memory usage rising up to 1.4GB and finally, the Pipewire completely stop(includes Audio devices and window thumbnail feature) and the attached messages logged on system journal, And then sometimes after a few moments and sometimes when a video is playing, after stopping the video or closing the player, everything goes back to normal and the Pipewire start to working again; And I have no idea if these two issues are related or no, Or is it a plasma problem at all or is it related to the Pipewire? Also, I've never repeatedly used window-thumbnail like this since video recording, and I do not know exactly when this problem started. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
[cantor] [Bug 455108] New: Feature request: Make documentation panel optional to build without Qt WebEngine
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=455108 Bug ID: 455108 Summary: Feature request: Make documentation panel optional to build without Qt WebEngine Product: cantor Version: 22.04.2 Platform: Compiled Sources OS: Linux Status: REPORTED Severity: wishlist Priority: NOR Component: general Assignee: cantor-b...@kde.org Reporter: awil...@adelielinux.org Target Milestone: --- SUMMARY Cantor now requires Qt WebEngine to build. We cannot offer Qt WebEngine on Adélie Linux because it is not compatible with most of our CPU architectures (PowerPC, 32-bit x86/ARM) and because it is not compatible with our libc (musl libc). There are other issues but these are the biggest ones. It seems like the only use of WebEngine is for the documentation panel. While it is obviously not ideal to remove this, it seems better to make this optional (along with WebEngine) than to drop Cantor from our distro entirely. I'll be writing a patch to do just that in the meantime, and if this is something that you would be willing to add upstream, you can feel free to merge it. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Try to build Cantor on a system that does not support Qt WebEngine. OBSERVED RESULT CMake Error at /usr/lib/cmake/Qt5/Qt5Config.cmake:28 (find_package): Could not find a package configuration file provided by "Qt5WebEngine" with any of the following names: Qt5WebEngineConfig.cmake qt5webengine-config.cmake EXPECTED RESULT Successful build. [plasmashell] [Bug 450248] [Wayland] Displaying the window thumbnail in Task Manager is very performance-intensive and can cause the desktop to lag
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=450248 --- Comment #5 from Behzad A --- Currently, on Kwin(git-9bb1a440), Pipewire doesn't crash anymore, Also memory leak still occurs, but not in the kwin_wayland, and it seems that memory leaks are now occurring in the graphics stack, because memory consumption of all processes is normal, but every time I use from the window-thumbnail, the amount of available memory decreases significantly(So that eventually all the memory is consumed), Also desktop lag occurs again, and lags are worse than ever before. Also lot of "plasmashell[]: QCoreApplication::postEvent: Unexpected null receiver" and "kwin_wayland[]: kwin_wayland_drm: Could not create drm framebuffer! Invalid argument" warnings are logged in system journal.
