Thanks again. You are correct, I hadn't noticed that in fact Carbon Emacs is no
longer being maintained. In the end I switched to "Emacs for OS X Modified"
(http://vgoulet.act.ulaval.ca/en/emacs/mac), which is based on the standard
Cocoa Emacs build (latest stable - 23.3), with some additional packages. Your
cfengine mode now works beautifully.
