Re: GnuCash 2.7.0 released

2017-10-21 Thread Ian K via gnucash-user
I added the extra text to the environment file as requested.
- GnuCash loaded normally.
- I created and saved a new file.
- I was able to exit GnuCash and restart successfully, loading the new file.
- I tried to load a copy of my existing data file from 2.6.18 and the
"loading user data..." stage on the splash screen GnuCash crashed with
"gnucash.exe has stopped working" error message popup.

Re: [Solved] - OFX failing for Bank Of America Checking

2017-10-21 Thread atdixon
Thanks! This worked for me. Just a few extra notes for those that already
have AqBanking users set up and need to generate and add the Client UID:

First, generate a UUID. On Linux/cygwin you can type uuidgen at the
command-prompt. You can find online UUID generators, as well.

Second, in Gnucash Open Tools > Online Banking Setup > Forward > Start
AqBanking Wizard. Select your BoA user and click "Edit User". In the "Client
UID", paste your previously generated UUID.

Third, in Gnucash, select (one of) your BoA account associated with the BoA
user and try an action (i.e, Actions > Get Balance.) This should fail as
usual.

Fourth, Log In to BoA and you should be immediately presented with a message
that indicates your use of Quicken. Click to confirm. Then (within a few
minutes!) go back and try the Action again in Gnucash. Balance and Download
Actions should succeed from now on...

Help Files

2017-10-21 Thread Dick Marvin
Greetings,

I am just beginning to use Gnucash. I have downloaded and installed
v2.6.18.

Although I have found the Help Files online, I cannot access them through
Gnucash. When I do an F1 or CTL+H, I get the message shown in the
attachment below.

Is there a way for me to access the Help files straight through the
application?

Just a link for people, like myself, who came from a search result, trying to

RE: Help Files

2017-10-21 Thread Ken Pyzik
Dick -- Make sure you get the v2.6.18 that was the 10.8.2017 build (I think
it is build 3). The first and second builds were missing the help files but
this third build has them.

Get it directly from Gnucash.org - it should be v2.6.18-3.

Ken

Re: Help Files

2017-10-21 Thread Dave H
Dick,

There was something in the mailing list a few days ago about help file
problems on Windows. Apparently you need to go back and download/install
version 2.6.18-3.

Cheers Dave H.
