SVN account request for Sandeep Shedmake

2008-01-10 Thread sandeep shedmake
Hi,

Hello, I am Sandeep Shedmake and I contributed to the GNOME
2.22(developmenent)- UI Translations in Marathi language and pushed
the UI
translations status from 45% to 55% till date. Some of the modules which I
translated includes:

gail.HEAD.mr.polibbonobo.HEAD.mr.po
gconf.HEAD.mr.po libgnomecanvas.HEAD.mr.po
glib.HEAD.mr.polibgnome.HEAD.mr.po
gnome-mag.HEAD.mr.polibgnomekbd.HEAD.mr.po
gnome-nettool.HEAD.mr.po libgtop.HEAD.mr.po
gnome-system-tools.HEAD.mr.ponautilus-cd-burner.HEAD.mr.po
gnome-terminal.HEAD.mr.po nautilus.HEAD.mr.po
gnome-utils.HEAD.mr.po sound-juicer.HEAD.mr.po
gnome-volume-manager.HEAD.mr.po vino.HEAD.mr.po
gtk-engines.HEAD.mr.po zenity.HEAD.mr.po

I wish to upstream the remaining modules in the repository.
Thereby, how can I wish to apply for SVN account access so as to directly
commit my translation work into the repository?

Even Marathi (mr) too is not listed in mango.

I would like to ask one question wrt GNOME Marathi L10n team:

If the team co-ordinator doesn't have SVN account (for whatever reason)

then is it true that memebers wihtin the team won't be getting SVN account
(even if the translation status is 80% or above) ?

Thanks in advance for whomsoever answers the question.

With respect to bug filed at

Matthias Clasen to send the patch to the gnome-i18n mailing list. If there
is any alternate procedure, then I would be glad to know about it.

[mr] Marathi co-ordinator -- how can i wish you get a svn account, so that team gets listed in mango ?

2008-07-16 Thread sandeep shedmake
Hi,

How I can wish Marathi Team co-ordinator get a svn account somehow?

Getting an account desperately might help:

1) Marathi getting listed at https://mango.gnome.org/new_account.php page as
one of the Translation Teams that contributes actively into GNOME
translations (GNOME 2.22 Marathi == approx 80% translation status was
achieved).

2) Avoid relying on others within the team for upstream commits and
resolving urgent bug fixes (I guess only one Marathi team member has svn
account).

3) Might Reduce some amount of overload on translators within the team --
won't have to worry atleast for upstream commits chasing the person around
for upstreaming files :) --just a pun.

Additionally, if there is any other alternative procedure that would
help Marathi getting listed in the Mango Translation Teams do let me know.

Waiting for the reponse & Thanks in advance.

With respect to above situation, I would like to reply in the following
manner:

1) I am a self-driven translator and would like to see the translations
reach their destination.

2) Team Coordinatorship is not probably something I am looking for, but in
case Swapnil feels that he is overwhelmed by his other work then I am open
to accept the role under guidance from Swapnil Hazare/Rahul Bhalerao.

3) Swapnil what do you think should be done in existing situation?

4) Also in either case, my account request would depend completely upon
Swapnil and it would be nice if he could take a decision about the current
situation so that I would continue with the translation work.

Additionally, I would require Swapnil's guidance all the time.

Also, I would be requesting for an SVN account via mail method and not

Hi,

I agree that literals or constant shouldn't be translated as they are
explicit invariant values contained within the source.
I would try -- not to translate literal values enclosed within double
quotes.

Are literal values only encountered for files ending with schemas.in?
