2007-09-08 Thread corl3ss

Hello all !

Since yesterday (before it was running very well for a while), when I
run this very small script :

Before reporting this error, verify that you are running a supported
version of FreeBSD (see http://www.FreeBSD.org/ports/) and that you
have a complete and up-to-date ports collection. (INDEX builds are
not supported with partial or out-of-date ports collections -- in
particular, if you are using cvsup, you must cvsup the "ports-all"
collection, and have no "refuse" files.) If that is the case, then
report the failure to [EMAIL PROTECTED] together with relevant
details of your ports configuration (including FreeBSD version,
your architecture, your environment, and your /etc/make.conf
settings, especially compiler flags and WITH/WITHOUT settings).

Note: the latest pre-generated version of INDEX may be fetched
automatically with "make fetchindex".

I run into a few problems with this on
FreeBSD 7.0-CURRENT #22: Thu Aug 30 21:45:49 CEST 2007,
the first being:

--->  Building '/usr/ports/x11-servers/xorg-nestserver'

===>   pixman-0.9.5 depends on executable: pkg-config - found
===>   Generating temporary packing list
===> Checking if x11/pixman already installed
===>   pixman-0.9.5 is already installed
  You may wish to ``make deinstall'' and install this port again
  by ``make reinstall'' to upgrade it properly.
  If you really wish to overwrite the old port of x11/pixman
  without deleting it first, set the variable "FORCE_PKG_REGISTER"
  in your environment or the "make install" command line.

The problem seems to be that xorg-nestserver checks for
/usr/local/libdata/pkgconfig/pixman-1.pc which is also referenced
in pixman's pkg-plist, but pixman actually install it to
/usr/local/lib/pkgconfig/pixman-1.pc.

After copying it to the expected location I got:

===>   xorg-server-1.4,1 depends on file: /usr/local/bin/perl5.8.8 - found
===>  Patching for xorg-server-1.4,1
===>   xorg-server-1.4,1 depends on file: /usr/local/bin/perl5.8.8 - found
===>  Applying extra patch
/usr/ports/x11-servers/xorg-server/files/extra-patch-gcc42
1 out of 1 hunks failed--saving rejects to hw/xfree86/scanpci/Makefile.in.rej
*** Error code 1

Which I solved by removing the ".if ${OSVERSION} > 700042" check.

Afterwards xorg-nestserver's configure script complained about:
Requested 'compositeproto >= 0.4' but version of CompositeProto is 0.3.1
and xorg-server's about:
Requested 'inputproto >= 1.4.2' but version of InputProto is 1.3.2

After updating inputproto and compositeproto manually
the update continued without problems.

The Squid maintainer can not resist to recommend that people look
at what the FreeBSD port of Squid-2.6.STABLE15 actually delivers. :-)

It should be safe to use the STABLE15 port since it includes all
published patches and some of them indeed fix severe issues in STABLE15.

An update to STABLE16 is already in GNATS as I write this. As usual,
people are recommended to monitor the Squid users mailinglist and the
Squid bugzilla database before upgrading their production systems.

Problem with pkgdb : /bin/sh:Argument list too long.

2007-09-08 Thread Patrick Lamaizière
Hi,

I've got a problem with portupgrade/pkgdb with a stale dependency to
xorg-server-snap (because i replaced it by xorg-server).

I can't fix the pkgdb, i think there is a bug
because "/bin/sh:Argument list too long".

(i tried with portupgrade-devel too but there is the same problem)

I do not really understand Ruby but i think that the problem is
somewhere here into pkgdb :
puts "Disclose depends for #{pkgname}" if $verbose

$origins[pkgname] = Hash.new
`cd #{$portsdb.portdir(origin)} && #{shelljoin(*make_env)} make
#{shelljoin(*ma ke_args)} package-depends-list`.map { |line|
  a = line.chomp.split(/ /)
  $origins[pkgname].store(a[0], a[2])
}.compact
  end

-

Thanks, regards.

Actually, the optional dependency on gtk20 produces a circular
dependency... xorg-libraries > pixman -> gtk20 -> xorg-libraries -> ...

An idea for next summer: PERL_RUN_DEPENDS= Foo::Bar
(I know I've done by best for this one, and it failed here and there)

net-im/gaim was removed earlier in favour of net-im/pidgin, but
deskutils/nautilus-sendto still tries to use it:

.if exists(${LOCALBASE}/bin/gaim)
BUILD_DEPENDS+= gaim:${PORTSDIR}/net-im/gaim
RUN_DEPENDS+=   gaim:${PORTSDIR}/net-im/gaim
PLIST_SUB+= GAIM=""
.else
PLIST_SUB+= GAIM="@comment "
.endif

Can you send-pr this so gnome@ will remove it?

I haven't used the program since my ISP stopped handling the
alt.binary groups... I'll update it to make sure it work with 0.99.2,
and then will throw it for the lions. Are you willing to become
maintainer of it?
