[Evolution] Contacts got lost when changing username!
Dear Evolution-list, I'm running Red Hat Enterprise Linux AS release 4 (Nahant Update 5) on an Athlon 64 computer, with Evolution 2.02 installed. After a change of my login user name, allt the Contacts data was lost. (Fortunately not the mails). I'm trying to find out what happened, but have no solution yet. The address book is still found at .evolution/addressbook/local/system/ with the files addressbook.db and addressbook.db.summary. However they are not found when running evolution. Trying to create new address books also fails, just the names are there, nothing can be adde to them. They can't even be removed. It seems that my previous login username is hard- coded somewhere making the Contacts parts to fail. Maybe it is due to some .gconf* settings or in .gnome* Please help with this issue. Best regards, Svante Signell ___ Evolution-list mailing list Evolution-list@gnome.org http://mail.gnome.org/mailman/listinfo/evolution-list

This sounds like the same problem I'm having. [Evolution] Badness in latest SVN
Hi all; after the latest release announcement I used my makefile to build the latest code from SVN, as of yesterday afternoon. Unfortunately I'm seeing some issues: First, my GAL lookups have stopped working again. They were broken in the 2.12 release, but then they got fixed. Now they don't work again for me. I have a GAL server set up, and I restrict to 500 responses. When I first select that server on the contacts screen I don't see any names (this is correct I think). When I enter a name to search for, it searches forever and never returns any values. Second, there's some very weird, annoying constant redrawing of the window when I'm reading mail. Every time I click on a new message the entire window is readjusted up, then down again, by a few pixels: this includes every panel such as the folder list, the summary, AND the actual email display panel. If it matters, I'm using the "Vertical View" mode on my widescreen monitor (Merry Christmas to me!) The contents of the preview panel have always been redrawn a couple of times, which is very annoying, but now the panels themselves, and all of them, actually move a bit. This is even more annoying! I thought it might be because I had Evo in fullscreen mode but I took it out of fullscreen and I still see it. -- --- Paul D. If it matters, I'm using the "Vertical > View" mode on my widescreen monitor (Merry Christmas to me!) to me, this appears to be triggered by the messages in the task bar. The space allocated seems to be not quite tall enough for the text/button images that appear in the messages. ___ Evolution-list mailing list Evolution-list@gnome.org http://mail.gnome.org/mailman/listinfo/evolution-list

Are you sure? I am using Evo 2.6.x on gNewSense GNU/Linux with MH as local storage, in parallel with my main MUA (Wanderlust). It works, although rescanning my inbox is painfully slow. I just tried with Evo 2.10.3 (my main MUA at work) on Debian testing and it seems to work as well. ___ Evolution-list mailing list Evolution-list@gnome.org http://mail.gnome.org/mailman/listinfo/evolution-list

[Evolution] List delaying messages?
I've noticed messages from this list are being delivered in batches over the past few days. Is there a problem with the mail server? As an example, I posted a message yesterday at 11.50 (PST), which was delivered to my mailbox today at 05.57. Look at http://svn.gnome.org/viewvc/evolution/trunk/plugins/attachment-reminder/ which is a plugin that makes use of a pre-send hook. You may have to write one similar to that.
