[Evolution] Writing in Reply is Backwards
I tried to reply to an html message and the reply text was typed backwards. This occurred with left margin or even when I tried to center the reply. The cursor stayed in one place and the text was typed backwards. This occurred whether the reply was before or after. I tried an experiment later with another email and all functioned correctly. I am just wondering if this is a possible bug, something in my settings, or just the characteristics of the particular email. I have saved the email and the same thing occurs when I reply to this particular email. Is it possible that I am not able to "escape" the margin of the replied to email. Really, this is a curiosity more than anything. But having just migrated from Outlook and windows, I am really like Evolution and am wanting to learn the functionality and quirks. Thanks, Gregg ___ Evolution-list mailing list Evolution-list@gnome.org http://mail.gnome.org/mailman/listinfo/evolution-list

I am just wondering if this is a possible bug, Yup, this is a known bug. Happens in some rare occasions, and it's apparently hard to find out what really causes this. http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=273512 > something in my settings, or just the characteristics of the > particular email. (Save the raw mail to a file first.) If you don't feel like creating a bugzilla account just for this purpose, I'd be glad if you send the raw message to me directly. Yes, logging out of X should stop all personal desktop daemons involved. Well, logging out of X and doing the maintenance work in a virtual terminal might be a solution for you -- but it is in no way an option for the average user, unfortunately. Granted, neither is the need to 'kill' a process. But this is considered a bug anyway, and will be fixed. The [force-]shutdown options are, although they can be hard for users, too. Better solutions are being hacked on. In general, it should be easy for a user to get all this data and settings back. At least there should be an easy way to backup and restore it. >I'd appreciate your further insights in this matter. [1] Please note that 2.5 is a development branch. This is a user list. Poornima, I don't assume users to get through the trouble of dealing with unstable work in progress. [Evolution] notification time for all day events
If I have an all day event for say 3 march 2006 I get the reminder 5 hours earlier and it says the event is from 7pm 2 march to 7pm 3 march Since my timezone is GMT-5 (Eastern US), there seems to be a localtime vs gmt problem, but I can't find it. Moreover, when I have an event for a specific time interval, say 10 pm on 5 jan 2006, everything works as expected, i.e., there is no 5 hour time shift. How can I arrange for the all day events to trigger (my first login after) midnight rather than 7pm? thanks, allan ___ Evolution-list mailing list Evolution-list@gnome.org http://mail.gnome.org/mailman/listinfo/evolution-list
