[Dx-packages] [Bug 1534053] [NEW] After connected to another phone , the icon of BT in indicator still shows no connection

2016-01-14 Thread quandan
Public bug reported:

current build number: 229
device name: krillin
channel: ubuntu-touch/rc-proposed/bq-aquaris.en
last update: 2016-01-14 06:13:05
version version: 229
version ubuntu: 20160114
version device: 20160108-efc96d8
version custom: 2015--36-46-vivid

Steps:
1.Go to BT page and turn it on
2.Use another phone (ios/android) to connect the DUT
3.After being connected successfully , check the BT icon

Expectation:
The icon of DUT in indicator should show as lightened up with white color

Actual result:
Both two devices have successfully connected, but the bluetooth icon in
indicator of DUT hasn't changed , it still shows as gray color.

Status in indicator-session package in Ubuntu:

Bug description:
  To inform the user that his/her action is needed to accomplish some
  task relating to the Operating System (as opposed to an application),
  the Power-Cog should turn red and a red highlight should color the
  entry in the menu that requires action.

  Restarting the OS to complete the installation of updates is such an
  event. The power-cog turning red alerts the user's attention to the
  event. And when the user clicks the red Power-Cog icon, an entry
  should exist that reads: "restart to complete updates"

  The current method of popping up a window does NOT provide a
  persistent state of notice and often results in the user forgetting to
  restart when an opportune time exists to do such a thing. It also
  breaks the logical connection and Unity-design of displaying system
  related events in the Upper-Right corner of the top-panel. "Restart"
  and "Shutdown" are items in the power-cog menu and this is the
  intuitive place for users to take action on such an event.

Status in indicator-session package in Ubuntu:
  Confirmed

Bug description:
  Clicking any of the actions that require a prompt - shutdown, restart, etc. -
in a non-Unity X session do not work. This seems to be caused by prompt
selection code in
https://bazaar.launchpad.net/~indicator-applet-developers/indicator-session/trunk.14.04/view/head:/src/backend-dbus/actions.c#L94
 - it always assumes that Unity prompt is available even if it, in fact, is
not.
  Checking for availability of Zenity prompt first is reported to fix this.

  For a proper solution the code responsible for detecting Unity prompt
availability should be improved. Right now it seems to be simply checking if it
can access D-bus. I assume the prompt is invoked via a D-bus call so I've
investigated checking for name presence on the bus, but that can potentially be
slow since it has a manually-set timeout.
  Checking the XDG_CURRENT_DESKTOP variable and only showing the Unity prompt
if it's set to "Unity" sounds like a better idea to me, but I'm not sure if the
variable is set on Ubuntu Touch at all.

[Dx-packages] [Bug 1365208] Re: There is "Restart" item in startup menu after power on/restart/log in system, the item will disappear in a few minutes

2016-01-14 Thread Sebastien Bacher
Looking at the code it's supposed to be disabled under Unity since
restart/shutdown trigger the same dialog there, it seems it just takes a
bit to the code to get the information that it's under Unity and toggle
the item, maybe we should change the default since Unity is the main
user of that indicator?

[Dx-packages] [Bug 1302852] Re: Does not work in non-Unity DEs/Xsessions

2016-01-14 Thread Sebastien Bacher
the code doesn't really assume that the Unity prompt is available

"  if ((prompt == PROMPT_NONE) && p && p->end_session_dialog)
{
  GDBusProxy * proxy = G_DBUS_PROXY (p->end_session_dialog);
  char * name = g_dbus_proxy_get_name_owner (proxy);
  if (name != NULL)
prompt = PROMPT_WITH_UNITY;
  g_free (name);
}

  /* can we use zenity? */
  if ((prompt == PROMPT_NONE) && p && p->zenity)
prompt = PROMPT_WITH_ZENITY;"

name should be null if unity is not active (is not on the bus) and it
should hit the second case and go with zenity...

  But if I use this function on the sound applet, this function is not
  used in the right direction and therefore not very intuitive. The
  directions should be reversed.

  I know, it is not very important and of course, I use the mouse wheel
  like everyone else to change the volume. Therefore I do not report
  this as a bug, but as a "does-not-work-like-expected"

  System Menu disappears when using HighContrast themes

Status in indicator-session package in Ubuntu:
  Confirmed

Bug description:
  1. Open System Settings>Appearance
  2. Change the theme to High Contrast.
  3. Notice that the far right indicator, the system status menu, no longer has
an icon. This makes it impossible for a typical user to log out of their
account.

  As a workaround, it's possible to click another menu, like the clock,
  and use the right arrow key to navigate to the basically invisible
  system menu.

  This should be a high priority bug, as it makes the system less usable
  to those who have enabled an accessibility feature.

  This will also affect the planned GNOME remix of Ubuntu as we use
  Adwaita by default but it will also include the Classic session with
  indicators. If 3D support doesn't work (such as in my VirtualBox
  testing today), the user will get the Classic session.

  Original bug description

  On today's 12.04 daily ISO,

  Steps to reproduce:
  1. open up gnome-control-center
  2. click appearance
  3.change theme to "high contrast" or "high contrast inverse"
  4. Look at the top right side of the menu bar : the System Menu has
disappeared

  What you should see: A "Restart..." item between "Suspend" and "Shut Down...".

  This is a regression of bug 815077. In 2011 we thought it might be a

  dialog, but we were wrong. So we moved it back to a top-level item in

  When clicking on the user change button (top right icon with users

  I may logout from my current account, but I should get the new user

  What actually happens is: the screens goes dark, I have to mouve the

  change user, I have to click: change user, then select the user and so
  on. Why is that for ? This can be done by clicking on 'logout'.

Title:
  "Restart" is missing from the system menu

Status in indicator-session package in Ubuntu:

Bug description:
  Problem occurs in: indicator-session 12.10.5daily13.03.08-0ubuntu1, Ubuntu R
  Does not occur in: Ubuntu 12.10

  1. Open the system menu.

  What you see: "Log Out...", "Suspend", and "Shut Down..." items.

  What you should see: A "Restart..." item between "Suspend" and "Shut Down...".

  This is a regression of bug 815077. In 2011 we thought it might be a
  good idea to demote "Restart" to an extra button in the "Shut Down"
  dialog, but we were wrong. So we moved it back to a top-level item in
  the system menu.

Thank you for your bug report, you reported that issue a while ago, is
there still a problem in the newer versions?

[Dx-packages] [Bug 1156572] Re: "Restart" not available when suppress-shutdown-menuitem is set

2016-01-14 Thread Sebastien Bacher
Under Unity the shutdown and restart actions are under the same dialog
so restart is not listed, it should probably when shutdown is disabled?
(but then the session dialog should not list that action either)

Unassigning, I don't think Marco is working on that one

  "Restart" not available when suppress-shutdown-menuitem is set

Status in indicator-session package in Ubuntu:

  1. In dconf-editor, set apps:indicator-session:suppress-shutdown-menuitem.
  2. Try to restart the computer.

  What happens: The menu provides no access to the Restart command.

  What should happen: The Restart item is there regardless of whether
  the Shut Down item is available.

  This is a regression of bug 1015558. It is distinct from bug 1156566,
  but could be fixed the same way.
