Any system or application hotkey witch use char (for example: ctrl+alt+t for terminal or ctrl+t for new tab in browser) become unfunctional when selected non-latin keyboard layout. Hotkeys with F1-12, numbers and other non-character buttons works perfectly. Window manager hotkeys not affected by this bug. All hotkeys in system parameters->keyboard->hotkeys->windows works perfect with any keyboard layout. Workaround for some system hotkeys and two layouts (english and non- latin): rebind all hotkeys in your local layout. For example instead of ctrl+alt+t use ctrl+alt+τ (greek tau). That hotkey still work with english layout. If you use english and two different non-latin layouts this workaround helps only with one of them. Dear Ubuntu users and developers! Please include the following information to your comment about non-latin shortcuts problems: 1. What Ubuntu version do you have (Ubuntu 13.10, Ubuntu 13.10 GNOME, Ubuntu 14.04, Ubuntu 14.04 GNOME and so on), upgraded (describe version) or clean installed 2. What keyboard layout do you have 3. What shortcut for keyboard layout switching do you use 4. On which session you have problems - that is one from Unity, GNOME Shell, GNOME FlashBack/Fallback (Metacity), GNOME FlashBack/Fallback (Compiz) 5. With which program and its version and origin (Ubuntu repositories, PPA, non-deb binary package from some website) you have problems. The default upstream Ibus keybindings for input switching, however, are still installed unchanged in Ubuntu. This keybinding overrides Control+Space in other applications, notably Emacs and Eclipse auto- complete. The default dconf db settings for Ibus are loaded by /etc/dconf/db/ibus/00-upstream-settings. The default settings in question are: trigger=['Control+space', 'Zenkaku_Hankaku', 'Alt+Kanji', 'Alt+grave', 'Hangul', 'Alt+Release+Alt_R'] triggers=['space'] It's hard for most users to figure this out and the problem could be easily avoided by changing the default settings supplied from upstream. In Ubuntu 13.04 Beta HUD no longer finds the "Update Status" option when typing "Update Status" or "Update" Also writing "Available" "Away" or "Busy" no longer gives any results. Other indicators however are accessible and I can use HUD to Suspend my computer or to view Skype status or Ubuntu one indicator options. Repeating: 1. Press alt key to start HUD 2. Write "Update status" or "Available" What was expected: HUD should have shown options ether from Gwibber to Update Status or Empathy to change status to Available both available from the messaging indicator. What happened: HUD didn't find any results. Notes: I have Ubuntu 13.04 Beta 64bit upgraded from Ubuntu 12.10 64bits and I'm using proprietary fglrx drivers. William, it can be download here (http://www.netup.ru/UTM5/demo.php) after registration. Sorry, but i can't found english version of this page. I mean, after installing packages from PPA and then restart the computer for some time it works great, but after a while, the characters no longer be input as if the application freezes. However, I can freely push the buttons and select menu items with the mouse cursor. I do not know whether this problem to the above PPA or not, but the fact that the application performance deteriorates after installing PPA. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of DX Packages, which is subscribed to unity in Ubuntu. Matching subscriptions: dx-packages https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1188831 Title: Scrollbar not visible when it's the only child in a container Status in Overlay Scrollbar: New Status in “overlay-scrollbar” package in Ubuntu: Triaged Bug description: Using Ubuntu 13.04 (overlay-scrollbars 0.2.16+r359daily13.02.06-0ubuntu1). We have a GtkScrollbar that is managed "manually" in it's own container (GtkFixed). The size of the scrollbar is requested in order to allocate the right size for the container. However, because overlay scrollbar always request 0 width (or height for horizontal), the container is shrunk and the scrollbar is not visible. So, I think the scrollbar should at least request BAR_WIDTH when it knows it's alone in a container. There is also a problem with the scrollbar getting allocated to 0 position (x or y) and then being offset to -3 (BAR_SIZE) in hijacked_scrollbar_size_allocate. I think those should be clamped to be >= 0. A bit of background: The application demonstrating this bug is Eclipse using the Lttng plug-in. Eclipse uses the SWT library which interfaces with GTK. It maps GridLayout (a bit like a table) to GtkFixed containers. It allocates the cells by requesting the size of gtk widgets (gtk_xyz_size_request) then allocating the container size. The bug appears in the TMF events editor because a virtual table is used so the scrollar bar has to be managed "manually" in its own container. I will submit a fix and screenshots. [Dx-packages] [Bug 1300722] Re: hud-service is eating up 100% of one of my CPUs in a poll loop

Opening and closing them, switching around, and generally trying to operate the program hasn't caused it to happen for me yet. :( If I could only reproduce this somehow, I could fix it! -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of DX Packages, which is subscribed to hud in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1300722 Title: hud-service is eating up 100% of one of my CPUs in a poll loop Status in Unity HUD: Confirmed Status in “hud” package in Ubuntu: In Progress Bug description: hud-service is polling like crazy: Context Switches: PID ProcessVoluntary Involuntary Total Ctxt Sw/Sec Ctxt Sw/Sec Ctxt Sw/Sec 2295 hud-service 46084.6342.94 46127.58 (very high) 2325 hud-service 0.09 0.00 0.09 (very low) 2329 hud-service 0.07 0.00 0.07 (very low) 2340 hud-service 0.05 0.00 0.05 (very low) Total 46084.8442.94 46127.78 File I/O operations: No file I/O operations detected. I connected to it using strace but it seems frozen. While frozen, the time and date settings will not appear while opened from the time and date applet. [Dx-packages] [Bug 1318334] Re: Most of the launcher and top bar freeze occasionally
Yes it is a dual screen configuration (DELL UX2711 on an ASUS UX31A) but I have to admit that I have no reliable way to reproduce the problem for now. Sometimes 'it just happens'. Yesterday the problem was 'fixed' as I locked the screen and unlocked it again. I have no idea wether this is relevant, but I have to execute some xrandr commands for using the correct resolution for the monitor (also described in another bug report: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/unity-settings- daemon/+bug/1310745 ) -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of DX Packages, which is subscribed to unity in Ubuntu. [Dx-packages] [Bug 1291461] Re: Lockscreen: keyboard layout switching shortcuts not working
I am used to shift+shift combination for layout switching. When I set 'shift+shift L' for switching, in unlock screen right shift does nothing, and pressing only left shift (without any other keys) changes layout. When I set 'shift+shift R' for switching right shift starts switch layouts alone in unlock screen. And when I set 'Alt + shift L', Alt and then Shift works OK, and Shift then Alt does not. [Dx-packages] [Bug 998285] Re: Tapping alt-tab switches between windows of the same application sometimes
Sorry, but this is not a bug. What is described here is the wanted design: unity switcher always selects the last used window of the previously used application. Then, if you were using application A1, then you switch to application B1, a single Alt-Tab will move you back to A1. Instead if you move from A1 to A2, then a single Alt-Tab must move you back to A1, since the current application is the same of the previous one (in this case A = B). We might accept an option (off by default) that allows to always use the Alt+Tab to only switch between applications, though. ** Changed in: unity Status: Confirmed => Won't Fix ** Changed in: unity (Ubuntu) Status: Confirmed => Invalid -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of DX Packages, which is subscribed to unity in Ubuntu. [Test Case] (1) Open a video in Totem (2) Right-click on the titlebar and set Totem to "Always on Top" (3) Make Totem full screen (eg. with the F11 key or clicking on the control) (4) Manually Lock the screen using Super+L (5) Notice that the lockscreen is hidden by totem. If you don't lock it manually and just pause the video and let it lock automatically this will show the same behavior. The same behavior occurs with any application that can enter full screen mode. [Regression Potential]Two cases may potentially source regressions. (1) windows that need to appear above the lockscreen, such as on-screen keyboards, (2) applications presenting fullscreen windows using unusual or non-standard toolkits. It is unlikely that regressions in either of these cases would be introduced by this bug fix, but rather would be pre-existing problems not fixed here. The xpathselect server-side matching (as opposed to matching in the autopilot python code) is not working as expected. To reproduce: - Save this code as test_selection_attributes.py - http://paste.ubuntu.com/7252495/ - (with the unity-autopilot package installed) run: `autopilot run test_selection_attributes` This script contains 2 tests, one passes to prove that it can get a Launcher that has the monitor attribute of 0, the 2nd test attempts to select the Launcher object with attribute monitor=0 and fails. We see in the unity logs: - "Unable to match 'monitor' against property of unknown integer type." A bit of digging suggests that GetPropertyValue is returning an array of values (Probably: Object type id, Value?) which means that, in MatchIntegerProperty for instance, the values GVariantClass will never be one of the Integer types. I couldn't found a solution yet, but this scaling issues really harmful for my eyes now. Hope this help to find bug easily.
