Error building new package in sidetag
Hi all, I am adding a few new dependencies to update a golang package (nothing new here) and building the new packages and update in a sidetag for F40. However, for one of the new dependencies, there is a repeated error: "FAILED: BuildError: package golang-github-ladicle-tabwriter not in list for tag f40-build-side-92523" Does this mean that this (new) package simply hasn't populated yet in the F40 list used by koji (i.e. wait it out)? Help with go spec file
Hi all, I'm fairly new to go and am looking to make a spec file and build jsonnet (https://github.com/google/go-jsonnet/, https://jsonnet.org/). The go2rpm utility has proven very helpful, but there appear to be two irregularities with building this package that I don't know offhand how to address (including from reading https://docs.fedoraproject.org/en-US/packaging-guidelines/Golang/). 1) What is the preferred way to ignore (or remove) unnecessary BUILD.bazel files? There is one in cmd/ which is obviously not a buildable command, and so this results in an error in the naive use case. 2) How should nested folders in cmd/ be built? Here, again, the basic template throws an error since cmd/internal contains no *.go files, only a BUILD.bezel file and a nested cmd directory. Thank you all, fuller -- Mark E. go version unknown?
Hi all, I have two Fedora machines that are essentially identically configured (to the best of my knowledge) - a daily use desktop and a laptop for lugging around. Anyway, somehow the laptop is properly returning `go version` and properly running a go debugger, etc. is VS Codium, but this is not working on the desktop and I am instead getting `go version unknown linux/amd64` instead of a proper version. I've tried reinstalling and and also completely removing and reinstalling `golang`, but it's still the same. Any suggestions as to how to troubleshoot this? Thanks, fuller -- Mark E. Re: Request: Airspy HF+
Sorry it's not working. I simply build the existing approved package that was otherwise abandoned. Given what you installed with Mandriva, it looks like there's another package needed - airspyone_host, which is in the Fedora repositories. (see e.g. https://pkgs.org/search/?q=airspyone_host) Have you tried installing that package as well? Please also keep in mind that Fedora is a volunteer-driven, community project. We all have limited time to contribute and while I and many others are willing to assist with software like yours, it would be nicer to see a request for assistance with getting the software into the distribution over a lament that we do not have it. Another self-introduction
Hello all and happy (civil) new year. I'm Fuller and I am new to this list since making the switch from stable Fedora to Rawhide about a month ago. I have been Linux-exclusive for nearly 15 years after some first exposure to Debian in the computing labs and made the switch from Ubuntu to Fedora 16 (Verne) back in 2011. I am a research scientist/engineer working on combustion, energy, propulsion, etc. and contribute to some open-source software and databases as part of that work. I am currently on the German translators team for Fedora and hope to also find some ways to give back as my own programming improves with my research. Regards -- Mark E. Help with packaging golang binary: resolving dependencies
Hi all, I'm looking to submit a first golang package for review, but I'm running into some confusion as to whether there's a way to download/import all the linked source dependencies without having to package all of those projects, too. To make this more concrete: My spec is at https://download.copr.fedorainfracloud.org/results/fuller/test-builds/fedora-rawhide-x86_64/04306641-golang-github-task/task.spec There are three other sources on which it depends, none of which are already packaged for Fedora, so the build log (https://download.copr.fedorainfracloud.org/results/fuller/test-builds/fedora-rawhide-x86_64/04306641-golang-github-task/builder-live.log.gz) shows: No matching package to install: 'golang(github.com/go-task/slim-sprig)' No matching package to install: 'golang(github.com/mattn/go-zglob)' No matching package to install: 'golang(github.com/radovskyb/watcher)' Not all dependencies satisfied Error: Some packages could not be found. Copr build error: Build failed I tried also explicitly adding the other repos as sources, but this didn't seem to fix the problem either, i.e.: ... Source0:%{gosource} Source1:https://github.com/go-task/slim-sprig/archive/master.tar.gz Source2: https://github.com/radovskyb/watcher/archive/refs/tags/v1.0.7.tar.gz Source3:https://github.com/mattn/go-zglob/archive/master.tar.gz ... Question on creating system users/groups at install in spec file
Hi all, I am working on chasing down an issue in preparing a package for review: The package should create a user and group as part of its installation and I have attempted to implement this following the instructions/docs at https://docs.fedoraproject.org/en-US/packaging-guidelines/UsersAndGroups/ Unfortunately, when testing the installation, I always get the following output: ``` Installing : usbrelay-common-1.0-1.fc35.x86_64 1/6 warning: user usbrelay does not exist - using root warning: group usbrelay does not exist - using root warning: user usbrelay does not exist - using root warning: group usbrelay does not exist - using root ``` I've tried several modifications and looked at the munge package for reference, but I'm still stuck.
