Orphaning Scala package

2024-07-18 Thread Christiano Anderson

Hi,

I'm orphaning the Scala 2 package. It's been very complicated to
maintain this package due to the complexity and lack of SBT package on
Fedora. There is no dependencies and I don't think anyone is using it,
as the Scala 3 has been available for some time now.

Thanks

If anyone would like to take over before I orphan them ping me and

I got the following package:

python-iowait orphan 0 weeks ago

The issue RHBZ 2155014 has been fixed by adding python3-setuptools as build
requirement. The build passed using mockbuild on my local machine (tested on
f38, f39 and rawhide).

I pushed the change only to rawhide branch, should I do the same for f39?

Since this is my first contribution to a package, could someone take a look at
the process and let me know if there's anything wrong with my commit?

https://src.fedoraproject.org/rpms/python-iowait/blob/rawhide/f/python-iowait.spec

If everything is fine, I'll comment and maybe close the RHBZ issue.

Re: Fedora Elections - Voting is now open!

2024-05-20 Thread Christiano Anderson

I can confirm that everything is working fine, thanks Aoife :-)

Hi Folks,

After _much_ troubleshooting and some wonderful folks working with me to
help resolve the issues that littered the elections today, I am pleased
to say all issues have been resolved, or at least I live in hope that
they are! :crosses fingers:

If you have voted in either or both FESCo and EPEL elections today,
please recast your votes in the new ballot boxes
as the previous ones are corrupted.

If you have voted in Council and/or Mindshare, and did not have a claim
link for your badge, please revisit your vote as the link has been
updated and you should be able to access it. If you can't, email me
directly and I will manually award this to you (I cant see who voted so
I can't do this without knowing who to send it to).

Voting will close at 23:59:59 UTC on 31st May 2024, an extra day has
been added and the schedule will be updated accordingly.

Thank you again to @Sandro @Miro Hrončok
 @Michal Konecny
 @Aurelien Bompard
 & @Tomas Hrcka
for your help, and to everyone for your patience and understanding while
I sorted out the chaos that was this election voting opening day!

Please let me know if you find any other anomalies and after a short
sob, I will fix them :)

Kindest regards,
Aoife

There seems to be a larger issue at play with the 'claim' link

Please be prepared for a restart for EPEL elections and once there
is a claim link for voting available I will update the elections app
where you should be able to claim post-voting and email the lists
and topic thread that its up and running.

What a Monday :-/

Thanks for your patience all, will update as soon as I have some

It seems Troy Dawson has not filled in first and last name

is were the information is coming from.

Receiving BZ Outstanding Requests for orphaned package

2024-06-28 Thread Christiano Anderson

Hello,

I have orphaned the buildstream package some time ago, but I may not
have removed myself from the Bugzilla Assignee option.

I am receiving outstanding request notifications related to this
package. I couldn't find a way to take myself off the Bugzilla Assignee.

Was there a step in the orphaning process that I missed? How to fix it?

Thanks

I have an Epson XP-352, both the printer and scanner work well, and my

My question is the same: is this even necessary? If it replaces the
proprietary blobs to open-source components, are there any advantages of
using epson-inkjet-printer-escpr instead of the default drivers detected

Re: How do you use sidetags?

2025-05-16 Thread Christiano Anderson

On 17/05/2025 08:00, Adam Williamson wrote:

builds can only be in one update at a time, and you can't remove the
last build from an existing update. So if a build is the sole package
in an existing update, it's 'trapped' in that update. If you actually
need a multi-package update, you have to do a bump/rebuild in the side
tag - you have to do a c-icap-0.6.3-3.el10_1 build in the side tag.

Basically, if you first do a 'normal' build and create an update (or
one is automatically created for you, on a Rawhide-like branch), then
realize you *actually* needed to do a multi-package side tag update,
you'll have to do a bump/rebuild. You can only 'escape' if you did the
build but didn't create an update (or have one auto-created).

It seems I came across this situation and I lost my way in the process.

Aside from that, though, Benson and Tom are right: after creating a
side tag you either do builds to it with `fedpkg build --target` or tag
existing builds in with `koji tag-build`. `add-pkg` is not the right
thing to use here, I'm not sure where you came across it.

https://docs.fedoraproject.org/en-US/package-maintainers/Package_Update_Guide/#multiple_packages
is the doc for this.

Thanks for the information, I'll try this next time :-)

I agree. I'm also having trouble with side-tags, and even after
carefully following the documentation, I feel like something is still
missing. The last time I tried, I couldn't see the build, so I ended up
redoing everything without using side-tags (fortunately, my packages
don't have many dependencies).

I'm volunteer to review and improve the documentation, after mastering
the site-tag process.

Orphaning rust-asyncgit and rust-gitui

2025-07-20 Thread Christiano Anderson

I'm orphaning rust-asyncgit and rust-gitui.

These packages are quite tricky, and I lack the Rust expertise to
maintain them. I hope a more skilled Rust maintainer can take over and
do a better job.
