Slack digest for #dev - 2020-10-25

2020-10-25 Thread Apache Pulsar Slack
2020-10-24 11:25:15 UTC - Lari Hotari: The grpc upgrade was reverted. I have
pushed a PR to fix the bug in the Github Flow used in Pulsar CI which caused
the tests to be skipped for the grpc upgrade PR:
. Once that is merged, I
guess the a PR can be reissued to do the grpc upgrade.

-

Summary: Update Cassandra driver to the 4.x line (currently 4.9)
 Key: PULSAR-8
 URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/PULSAR-8
 Project: Pulsar
  Issue Type: Improvement

Currently Pulsar uses the Cassandra driver version 3.6 which is a couple of

[ANNOUNCE] New Pulsar Committer: Huanli Meng & Hang Chen

2020-10-25 Thread Sijie Guo
The Apache Pulsar PMC recently extended committer karma to Huanli Meng and
Hang Chen and both of them have accepted.

Huanli Meng has done a lot of contributions in technical writing and
documentation development for Pulsar, and continues to help promote Pulsar
in different channels via tech writing.

Hang Chen has contributed a lot of great features such as precise flow
control, threshold-based load shedder, topic-level policy support, etc, and
continues to involve in the feature development in the Pulsar community and
promote the project in various ways.

It is great to have them onboard as Pulsar committers.

We are looking forward to more contributions from them.

Congratulations and welcome onboard, Huanli and Hang!

   @steelone
i have not succeeded to run you example yet, but the issue may be caused by
the default number of worker threads being 4.
can you please try setting an environment variable `UV_THREADPOOL_SIZE` to a
bigger number?
