First of all thank you for the nomination and the trust in me that I could be a good candidate. I would have been interested for sure earlier or potentially in the future but at this time I won't be available for the election. Although I am involved in the project since the beginning and already before the source code was open sourced I have switched some priorities and my work focus a bit. I believe that I would not have enough time to help the project moving forward in the near future. I am looking forward that somebody else grows in the role of the PMC chair and takes more responsibility. My wish is that the next PMC chair will be active in the project and will help to drive things forward together with the PMC. The most important goal is to activate developers and improve the product in critical areas. Re: Committer with Mac OS X environment needed
Hi Michael, the Mac icons (.icns) have to be replaced in main/sysui/desktop/icons. As Windows uses it’s own icons which are not modified, but located in the same directory (.ico), there should be no impact to Windows builds. For Mac OS X OpenOffice has to be recompiled with the replaced icons. @ all: Updated icons are included up to 256 x 256 pixels. Icons at 512 x 512 pixels as well as icons at 1024 x 1024 pixels are currently not available (needed for retina readiness). They can be created easily with the vector image sources. Unfortunatly these sources are not available - or I wasn't able to find them. Is anyone able to supply the vector image sources of the current icons? My past statements and writings make me too much of an obstacle in that respect, allowing those with more radical views to block the natural accommodation that should be occurring between these two communities. c) I think I can better serve the project, as I have, in other ways. > 2) Where his/her efforts will primarily be directed. > > 3) Regardless of whether one is running or not (and regardless of whether > one is elected or not), it might be that some of the candidates wish to take > responsibility for a certain area. Hallo Rob, Apache OpenOffice has been updated to version 4.1.1 by bww. You can download this OS/2 version with different language packs. Re: Design change for side bar
Am 01/08/2015 12:30 AM, schrieb Regina Henschel: the pending review request https://issues.apache.org/ooo/show_bug.cgi?id=125989 is about a change in the visual style of the side bar. We do not have a special "Design" group and I do not want to decide alone. So please have a look at screenshots in that issue. I'm not a design specialist, so the following is my personal opinion: To be honest, I don't care too much. I don't see a real benefit when the group highlighting is visible or not. IMHO the highlightning is not a big eye-catcher to make a difference. *) However, we really need an update in the general UI. So, when others also think it's a good idea - and a starting point for UI improvements - , then OK let's do it. Furthermore when it's improving the consistency then it's also an argument to remove it in the sidebar. HTH Is this a problem, I should forward to the users mailing list? If you want to have more opinions then yes. But please remember: Decisions are done in the dev@ mailing list. ;-) Marcus - To unsubscribe, e-mail: dev-unsubscr...@openoffice.apache.org For additional commands, e-mail: dev-h...@openoffice.apache.org
