No, there are no SRPMS, and it doesn't sound plausible. The source is
released only in compressed files:
http://www.openoffice.org/download/other.html#tested-sdk

I looked around a bit but could not find any. Specifically, if
I could get the SRPM intended for the Fedora build would be greatly
appreciated.

The build are "universal builds", not different builds targeted to
specific Linux distributions. You can download the source tarball, it's
the same for all distros.

If you plan to develop, it's better to check out the code with
subversion (or better git-svn).

Really? If there's an RPM, then there's probably a spec file
*somewhere*, be it maintained by the project, or otherwise.

If it's maintained by the project, then Lee can use it as a starting
point. Frankly, if not, and the PMC is blessing/recommending a specific
binary (read: those available at SF) already available in RPM form, it
would make sense to contribute the spec file to the project anyway.

Granted, the project would (and should!) not be interested in
maintaining distribution-specific tweaks, but I'd think that if there
are universal patches or other ideas made from any downstream packagers,
that would be of interest...

What is ATS to you ?? to me it is the Apache Traffic Server, and it simply
routes requeststhe AS (Apache Server) do as you describe, compare
timestamp to see if a page should be sent or notThe current mwiki (php
scripts within AS) has a problem with timestamping, and as a result you get
an "old" skin (top part/menus/bottom). In your case (which is also my
case), mwiki simply do not check if you are already logged in (cookie
information) and more or less blindly sends out the skin without login
information.

According to release notes, it seems mwiki has been changed in the skin
handling, so lets see as soon as the new version is up and running (should
be soon).

Project website migrated

2012-12-09 Thread Andrea Pescetti

For those not following
https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/INFRA-5603 :
Joe Schaefer (thanks!) migrated our two websites.

I was able to edit a page on
http://www.openoffice.org/
and
http://openoffice.apache.org/
is now a complete site, like
http://openoffice.apache.org/mailing-lists.html

The only thing that still needs to be done is to set up a redirect from
http://incubator.apache.org/openofficeorg/
to
http://openoffice.apache.org/
so that the "incubator" pages are redirected to the current ones. Compare:
http://incubator.apache.org/openofficeorg/mailing-lists.html
(old content, contains the typo "commmits")
and
http://openoffice.apache.org/mailing-lists.html
(new content, typo fixed)

I've removed the notice about pending website migration from the
December report draft.

  Andrea.

No. The spec are generated at build time and removed once each package
each built, so there is no way to get the spec from the build (besides,
those spec are generated at runtime and are dependent on configure
switches).

Incompatible changes in AOO 4.0 ?

2012-12-09 Thread Regina Henschel

Hi all,

there are some pending incompatible changes (see below) and I wonder,
whether they should be implemented in AOO 4.0 or later. The listed ones
come to my mind, but there might be some more.

Kind regards
Regina

A
Implementation of FDIST as defined in ODF1.2

The function FDIST (part 2, 6.18.22) calculates the left tail (integral
from 0 to x). The function LEGACY.FDIST (part 2, 6.18.23) calculates the
right tail (integral from x to infinity). The current implemention of
FDIST in AOO is actually “LEGACY.FDIST”. The function FDIST in documents
written with OOo2.x are different from the function FDIST, which has to
be implemented. I do not speak of the UI names, but of the names in the
file.

B
Rotation of gradient

AOO interprets the angle of the rotation of a gradient as value with
unit 0.1 degree. In ODF 1.2 it is defined, that it is unit degree. I see
no willingness in the OASIS TC to change the specification to follow the
interpretation of AOO, especially because Gnumeric follows the
specification.

C
Interpretation of svg path command “z”

The svg path command “z” closes a path and sets the “actual point” to
the start of that path. AOO uses the last point before the “z” command
as “actual point”. LibreOffice has already changed to the correct
behavior. In addition it has introduced a “ODF 1.2 extended (compat
mode)” to allow to save to the old wrong kind.

https://issues.apache.org/ooo/show_bug.cgi?id=119118

D
Order of radius and angle in custom shapes

The specification says in section 19.179 draw:handle-position, “If the
draw:handle-polar attribute is set, then a handle is a polar handle and
the first parameter of the draw:handle-position attribute specifies the
angle (as defined in 18.3.1), the handle radius is specified by the
second parameter.“ But AOO writes it the other way round.

Yes please, maybe one day (just for testing effectiveness) during the
coming week, say Wednesday 12th December, and then the last days of the
Call for Papers, 19-23 December or so. Link should point to

https://cwiki.apache.org/confluence/display/OOOUSERS/FOSDEM+2013+Proposals

I'd like to get the "AskOpenOffice" promotion in a few days as well.
But I think the translation call has the greater urgency right now.

Sure, this should be our main message for this week: we definitely want
to recruit translation volunteers now rather than in a couple weeks,
when the translation deadline will be too close.

It's okay. IMHO, it can be implemented as a feature enhancement. Then
prepare a formal testing to verify this implementation. It will be better
than checking it as defect verification.
