[Bug 82748] Re: [apport] gnome-volume-manager crashed with SIGSEGV
Thanks for the reply. I`m using the default Ubuntu (Feisty) ATI driver (card is a Radeon X600, Acer TravelMate 4100 laptop). The problem was occurring in bog-standard GNOME after start up. Interestingly, since applying a bunch of patches last night and a cold start today (I keep up to date with Feisty updates, knowing it is a development build), instead of the immediate crashes, the GNOME splash now lists "loading the panel" 7 or 8 times on login, but does not crash; I just receive "I`ve detected a panel already running". I guess it`s possible the issue is being addressed by some other code changes. Will keep an eye on things as I`ve had the crashing panel issue since Edgy`s release. -- [apport] gnome-volume-manager crashed with SIGSEGV https://launchpad.net/bugs/82748 -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

Erich: Actually the web browser widget or picture frame are from the kdeplasma-addons source. So not a core part of the Plasma desktop. We just seed those addons packages by default as they are good to have for users. However, you are correct that when installed and a user tries to add them to the desktop, the resulting crash does bring down the whole desktop. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to devhelp in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/2046844 Title: AppArmor user namespace creation restrictions cause many applications to crash with SIGTRAP To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/apparmor/+bug/2046844/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 1916390] [NEW] seeding a package that depends/recommends fuse3 causes livefs builds to fail
Public bug reported: Seeding a package that depends/recommends fuse3 causes livefs builds to fail. Examples: kio-fuse: depends fuse3. Upstream KDE have requested/suggested that KDE distro add this to their default install. sshfs-fuse: a dependency of kdeconnect, which is a default recommends in Kubuntu. Currently the version in Ubuntu is 3.6.0+repack+really2.10-0ubuntu1 as the real 3.x release from debian depends now on fuse3, and so breaks ISO builds. [Bug 1241811] Re: USB disk not automatically mounted after upgrade to 13.10
I also have this problem and if it is the same bug I have narrowed it down to "lightdm". I am using Mint 17 (based on Ubuntu 14.04). Mint's default login manager is "mdm" (fork of gdm). With it, usb devices are auto-mounted just fine when plugged in. When I install lightdm and choose it as the login manager, after reboot then devices *do not auto-mount anymore*. Just as the previous poster, the dmesg output shows that the device is correctly found and attached, but not mounted. When I click on the device in Nautilus or Nemo, it will then mount just fine, but it needs this manual interaction. If I then uninstall lightdm, choosing mdm again as the display manager, upon reboot the auto-mounting of usb devices works just fine again. So it must be something in lightdm for me. A udev rule not finishing somehow triggered by lightdm? An upstart trigger involving lightdm that hangs things up? Any advice on where to look from here appreciated. ** Also affects: lightdm Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gvfs in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1241811 Title: USB disk not automatically mounted after upgrade to 13.10 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/gvfs/+bug/1241811/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
