[Bug 1908429] Re: gnome-shell fills syslog: Attempting to run a JS callback during garbage collection. This is most likely caused by destroying a Clutter actor or GTK widget with ::destroy signal conn

2021-05-25 Thread Thiago
I'm having this problem on a machine that uses google chrome, the gnome
calculator and a corporate software. It's vanilla Ubuntu 20.04.

Syslog reaches 50g and the machine stops working (disk full). Exact same
message as reported.

Any way to stop the log until the problem is resolved?

[Bug 54278] .desktop files are inconsistent

2006-07-27 Thread Thiago Dilago
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: evolution

There's a file (evolution-2.6.1/debian/evolution-2.2.desktop) which sits
there for nothing.

Solution:
Delete evolution-2.6.1/debian/evolution-2.2.desktop in source package

There are two different icons for evolution (besides the useless one):
one called /usr/share/applications/evolution.desktop - which appears in
Start Menu under Office, and one called evolution-mail.desktop - which
appears under Network menu, and is more consistent with both theme and
text description.

Solution:
Delete evolution-2.6.1/data/evolution.desktop.in.in and
evolution-2.6.1/debian/patches/02_icon.patch (patch appled in
evolution.desktop.in.in ) and apply the patch in attachment this insert the
desktop evolution-2.6.1/debian/evolution-mail.desktop in Office group.

** Affects: evolution (Ubuntu)
 Importance: Untriaged
 Status: Unconfirmed

I tried what you asked, but wasn't so successful. Only the first one could

The one it worked is called: _usr_bin_nautilus.1000.crash

[Bug 1723772] Re: Shell crashes when left unattended

2017-10-20 Thread Thiago Benites
There are some news about the problem. It is better now, but still
weird. When I go to the hibernation I can come back and the windows are
not closed anymore, but when I move a windows or close it the screen
flares and so stay it, until I restart the computer.

I got Ubuntu 17.10 on my laptop and I don't have this problem, it works
fine. There's a little detail that can be helpful. When I start the
hibernation there are some seconds until the LED from monitor starts to
blink. If I try to come back before the LED blinks so it works fine
further. Just when the monitor in fact in stand by is I got the problem.

[Bug 1617026] [NEW] E-Mail got stucked on outbox and it doesn't appear on that folder as well

2016-08-25 Thread Thiago Martins
Public bug reported:

Here is the problem...

There is an broken e-mail inside of Outbox but, first, it doesn't show
up on the list, second, it is impossible to get rid of it!

Steps to reproduce:

1- Try to write an e-mail to:

 John Doe <'j...@bla.com'>

NOTE: the single quotes is what triggers this bug! The correct would be
"John Doe ", which works.

 Write something on body...

2- Click on "Send", BOOM! Hit the bug.

This e-mail will get stuck forever somewhere inside of Evolution... I
can't find a way to remove it.

Cheers!

2016-09-12 Thread Thiago Martins
Hey guys,

How can I workaround this situation?

Every time I click on "send & receive", I see the following yellow error
message on Evolution:

"Error while Sending message.
One or more recipients are invalid."

But there is not a single message in my Outbox folder to delete and get
rid of this.

I appreciate any help!

Thanks,

Ignore this bug, problem solved by removing the bugged message out from

[Bug 1427352] [NEW] TreeView never display horizontal scrollbar so columns gets squashed together

2015-03-02 Thread Thiago Bellini
Public bug reported:

This is a regression from 3.8 present until 3.12 (it is fixed on 3.14+).

The treeview's horizontal scrollbar is broken in a way that it will
never get displayed when needed, but instead, the columns will be
squashed all together.

You can see this bug [1] for reference of the upstream issue. Also,
there are those 2 images (taken from the bug) showing how this used to
work on 3.6 [2] and how it is working on 3.10 [3].

I already ported the fix to the package and am doing some tests atm. As
soon as I finish everything, I'll open a merge proposal linking to this.

[Bug 1431138] [NEW] [systemd] Unbootable Vivid after poweroutage + file system with errors

2015-03-11 Thread Thiago Martins
Public bug reported:

Guys,

I started to use Vivid with systemd yesterday, and today, my system
froze due to lack of ram memory (my problem, obviously).

I tried to "reboot" it, without success... The reboot command did not
succeed. I tried to reboot by clicking on Unity menu, didn't worked
either.

So, I pressed the power button to turn my machine off.

Then, the Ubuntu did not booted anymore... I know that systemd boot
takes ages to boot (upstart boots in a 2 seconds) but, this time, 5
minutes passed and nothing.

I rebooted my machine again, now, using upstart (Grub -> Advanced
Options -> Upstart) and guess what? The plymouth screen (I think), was
asking me to "press F" to fix file system errors!

That message did not appeared when booting with systemd. Removing "quiet
splash" did not helped, I saw only a black screen (when with systemd).

Definitively systemd isn't ready for prime time on Ubuntu. I'm using
Jessie on another machine, systemd runs just fine there.

Regards,
Thiago

The one relevant modification that I have setup in my machine is that I
run Xgl & Beryl.

Also, when the crash happened my friend had just sent me one of those
automated messages "Hey, look at these photos - (random link to
something really evil)", probably generated from a virus, trojan or
something like that at her side. however, she said that she received a
similar message from me, at the same time. I'm positive that my PC is
free of viruses and trojans, as I'm really careful about what I install,
and this is a Linux box after all.

I'll submit the crash report afterwards.

Can not play movie formats without codec installed, until then normal.
To reproduce the bug is only trying to open a *.rmvb, for example. It will
show an error message saying it needs the codec.
The point is that the 9.04 version of Ubuntu it downloaded and installed the
codec automatically.

[Bug 1313132] Re: Nautilus, Ubuntu 14.04 64 bit, Nautilus opens another window instead to use that window which is allready open

2014-04-27 Thread Thiago Francisco de Campos
This bug affects me too.

Important notes 1: When i'm using Nautilus whithin my Home directory,
maximize and minimize function normally, however, when I'm browsing on
another partition (NTFS - dualboot Win7 or pendrive), by clicking on the
icon opens a new instance instead of using the same.

Important note 2: I realized that when the Nautilus is not locked in the
launcher (I'm using Nemo for while), the minimize and maximize function
normally.

[Bug 998448] [NEW] Colors appear wrong

2012-05-12 Thread Thiago Vinicius Freire de Araújo Ribeiro

I've looked into #272584, but I cannot decide if this bug is a duplicate
of that one. I have tried to reproduce that bug, using the provided
images, but got the opposite result: image_noicc_noexif.jpg appears to
be rendered correctly, while image_sRGB.jpg is not. Also, the color
distortion seems different from the reported on #272584, maybe because
of a different monitor?

I'm attaching a screenshot, using the same sample images at #272584.
