[Bug 657316] [NEW] Automount of SD cards lead to nautilus and 3g network problems

2010-10-09 Thread Sergio Zanchetta
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: nautilus

Very weird and blocking bug.

Acer TM 6593G

Step to reproduce:
1) Insert a SD card in the internal card reader.
2) it starts to mount/unmount randomly for few times, and a grey area come up
in the middle of the screen on the foreground, covering all stuff put over it
(see screenshot). It's impossible to move away/delete/close.
3) A mount error appear "Error mounting: mount: /devmmcblk0p1: can't read
superblock",
4) Then I cannot work on the desktop, like opening folder like "Examples" or
showing desktop right-click menu. The panel menus instead works correctly.
5) I tried to connect via 3G Internet Key to report the problem, I can
established a connection but I can't connect to a site using firefox (it stucks
on Looking up www.etc.")

The only way to make things work is to log out and in again. (then 3g
connection works again).

[Bug 44082] Re: GNOME Panel icons (on right side) move apparently randomly on session start in some situations

2010-03-09 Thread Sergio Zanchetta
@Ahmad

>From https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Bugs/Importance :

Low: Bugs which affect functionality, but to a lesser extent than most
bugs, examples are:

* Ones that can be easily worked around
* Ones that affect unusual configurations or uncommon hardware
* A bug that has a moderate impact on a non-core application
* A cosmetic/usability issue that does not limit the functionality of an
application

Cheers.

[Bug 539951] [NEW] [Lucid Beta1] Automatic folder renaming when changing language doesn't work as expected

2010-03-16 Thread Sergio Zanchetta
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: xdg-user-dirs-gtk

Lucid Beta1 Netbook Edition Live USB (persistent).

Steps to reproduce:
1) Boot the live session, select English and "Try Ubuntu"
2) Reboot the system
3) Select Italian (or another language).
4) A window come up asking about changing folder names automatically.
5) Select Yes.

What it should happen:
* Folders should be correctly renamed.

What happens instead:
* In File & Folders
Document, Music, Pictures, Videos folders are correctly renamed.
There are both Downloads and Scaricati (italian name) folders present.
There is a Desktop folder instead of a Scrivania (italian name) one and it
contains the Example folder and "Install Ubuntu etc." icon.

* In Ubuntu folder:
All folder are correctly renamed but there are both Desktop and Scrivania
(italian translation) in it.
The Desktop folder contains the Example folder and "Install Ubuntu etc.",
Scrivania folder is empty.

[Bug 499999] Re: Print Request Causes a Freeze

2010-02-10 Thread Sergio Zanchetta
I found out the problem.
Two weeks ago I changed router.
The old one uses 10.0.0.x LN IPs, the new one 192.168.1.x IPs.
I have two printer, one of them is configured through IPP.

Freezes happened when it tried to contact that printer (but PC had a new
IP number).

I fixed it removing old printer from System->Administration->Print and creting
a new one.
In fact it's a bug anyway but it must be addressed to cups or other related
package.

Can someone confirm it please?

I confirm the same problem using evince and okular.
I also converted pdf file to djvu format using pdf2djvu, opened with djview4
and freezes appear when clicking on File->Print.. as well.
It seems to be a bug in the underlying printing structure, rather than
application specific.
No way to print pdf files.

[Bug 367797] [NEW] Cloned form text is present but doesn't appear in multiple pages.

2009-04-27 Thread Sergio Zanchetta
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: evince

Step to reproduce.
1) Open pdf file I attached. (it has 3 pages, with cloned forms, once you
compile first page, others are filled in automatically)
2) Compile some forms on the first page.

Actual results:
The cloned form texts on second and third page are not visible (and not
printable) but present into the form (if you click on it you can see the text)

Expected results:
Cloned forms should be visible and printable.

2009-01-26 Thread Sergio Zanchetta
@Martin
I reopen this because there is an non-translatable emblem left in nautilus that
comes from gnome-icon-theme.

It's "default" and it is shown along with "Downloads" and "Erase" even
using human theme.

But while the last two are translatable, "default" doesn't. (Note it's
not in capital letter).

I'm preparing a debdiff for gnome-icon-theme to fix this, and I'll
upload it to upstream too. (I'll open a bug upstream ASAP)

[Bug 172353] Re: Human theme has non-translatable emblem names.

2009-02-12 Thread Sergio Zanchetta
I forwarded the patch upstream.

Thank you very much. :-)

** Bug watch added: GNOME Bug Tracker #571556
   http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=571556

** Also affects: gnome-icon-theme via
   http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=571556
   Importance: Unknown
   Status: Unknown

** Summary changed:

- Human theme has non-translatable emblem names.
+ Human (and gnome) theme have non-translatable emblem names.

** Description changed:

- Icon emblem names (using main theme human) in Nautilus (Right-click on a

+ Icon emblem names (using theme human and gnome) in Nautilus (Right-click
+ on a file,->Properties->Emblems  and  Edit->Backgrouns and
+ emblems->Emblems in a folder) are not translated in Italian language.

  In rosetta there is a translation package for gnome-icon-theme

https://translations.launchpad.net/ubuntu/gutsy/+source/gnome-icon-theme/+pots/gnome-icon-theme/it/+translate?start=0
  and it works for Gnome theme and Tango theme, but there is no pot files for
human-icon-theme in Rosetta itself.

In fact it works also with gstreamer0.10-plugins-ugly which would be
the selected by default when you select a mp3 radio from an installed
system.
gstreamer0.10-plugins-ugly is in universe as well.
