[Bug 880657] Re: stuck retrieving emails from IMAP
Installed Mint15_64 and Evolution 3.6.4 and similar problem. Evolution will get stuck trying to retrieve an email. Killing process does not resolve the problem as the empty window persists - by that I mean the emails, icons and other functions disappear but the overall window persists. Only way I clear it is to log out and back in from the Mint session completely. It is though related to IMAP and a similar problem occurs with sync of calendars. Apologies, but I do not see how to swap protocol to IMAP+ = could be me missing it as it is late. [Bug 1035896] [NEW] iPod syncing in Rhythmbox deletes static playlists on iPod
Public bug reported: When syncing my iPod classic 120gb, everything works fine except that any static playlist generated on the iPod is deleted after the sync. These playlists include On-the-Go playlists and any newly saved playlists on the iPod itself. Creating a playlist via right-click->New Playlist on the iPod will allow me to create the playlist, but when I hit 'Sync' any playlist I create will have disappeared. All of the smart playlists that were generated via iTunes remain intact. Playlists created in and sync'd from Rhythmbox remain intact. The expected behavior is for Rhythmbox to leave those playlists alone unless I explicitly delete them. I was having the same issue as listed here running 10.10 with kernel.35-23-generic on x86_64. I ran into the not being able to unlock gdmsetup and figured out that was because I used sudo before it and if you do you are not able to unlock it. You have to run just gdmsetup. [Bug 90075] Re: cannot configure wireless access with static IP and WPA encryption using network-manager-gnome
I have the same or similar problem. I am using a Toshiba Satellite 105 with Atheros AR5005 wireless chip installed. When I setup WPA on, I show the IP of the provider as being accessed, but now I am unable to use ANY browser. With WPA encryption on I get a "URL not found" error. I have used the various programs in the 3 versions of Ubuntu I have installed and get the same problem. When encryption is ON, I can no longer access the Internet. I have also used "iwconfig ath0 enc s:password" and can set the password. Next "iwconfig" will show the encryption ON, but once again I am unable to access the Internet. I have used Static settings for my local WIFI portal and I can never get access to the Internet, once encryption is ON, regardless of which program or routine I use. When I reboot, the WIFI access is restored and I can get the Internet, as long as WPA encryption is OFF. -- cannot configure wireless access with static IP and WPA encryption using network-manager-gnome https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/90075 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is a bug assignee. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
Re: [Bug 24295] Re: [network-admin] Cannot enable WPA in UI
Thanks a lot: I don't know if you installed it specifically on my machine, but one day it asked me for the key, I gave it, and it has worked marvelously ever since. I had left ubuntu and tried other systems, some very good. Yet ubuntu and your help was the first to address the problem of my machine with my particular set-up, and solve it. I see various .iso downloads on distrowatch, that I would like to try, but not at the expense of losing what I have. Thanks again. Some day I will send some money, but I have other needs now. J. Re: [Bug 24295] Re: [network-admin] Cannot enable WPA in UI
I hope I can clairfy: I am in an apartment complex, that has evidently a DOS program that looks for a Key: "[EMAIL PROTECTED]" to enable only users in the complex to access WIFI. If you want them, I can provide the exact sequence and terminology used. I remember it is a WPA PSK key. I can't say whether it was Network Manager that initiated the final process that asked me for my "code," or another routine. If you feel it is important I could save my data and rebuild this part of my hard disk with Ubuntu 7.04 Feisty Fawn (see below for more details). This is what I think changed things for the better: I tried to install a Belkin, USB WIFI antenna for greater range, following instructions from a file downloaded, which I can probably find (I save everything). I couldn't get the Feisty OS to see the Belkin (Ralink) antenna, but it was after this that a boot up sequence asked me for the correct key and booted into the Atheros radio chip. The system was Feisty Fawn 7.04 (DVD) from issue 80, July 2007 of Linux Magazine, As I said above, the software probably was in the system on the DVD, as I was unable to access the internet using my WIFI setup. Again, my guess is that when I tried to install the Belkin "Railink" chip, I moved something or deleted something in the Wifi boot up script that caused it to see the Atheros chip in the correct sequence. My guess is that the newer program or routine, as you may call it, had not been used in this case, since I could not download any software until my machine could access the WIFI and internet. So, if you are not confused by now, I tried. Regards, J. Lynch Martin Jürgens <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: Just to clarify :), that was probably network-manager, the icon on the right top corner in the panel which support WPA for a long time now.
