[Bug 34330] images don't get thumbnailed on live CD

2006-03-10 Thread Colin Watson
Public bug reported:
https://launchpad.net/malone/bugs/34330

Affects: nautilus (Ubuntu)
   Severity: Normal
   Priority: (none set)
 Status: Unconfirmed

Description:
Images don't seem to get thumbnailed on a current live CD; I haven't
tried a fresh install. Perhaps this is a problem with inotify on the
squashfs/unionfs filesystem?

Task: ubuntu espresso-frontend-gtk

Comment:
espresso (0.99.32) dapper; urgency=low

  [ Tollef Fog Heen ]
  * Change dependency on espresso-keyboard-setup to espresso-kbd-chooser,
since that component moved to another package with a lower version
number and we don't like epochs.
  * Make the keyboard selector work somewhat sanely -- call back to
kbd-chooser when the selection is changed.
  * Fix choices_display_map to work correctly and map to the other value
instead of being an identity map.

  [ Colin Watson ]
  * Update Portuguese translation from Rosetta.
  * GTK frontend:
- Prevent gnome-screensaver from kicking in while Espresso is running
  (closes: Malone #34510 espresso-frontend-gtk task).
- Translate window title immediately when changing language.
- Make title of install progress bar translatable.
- Make sure that cancelling the installation at the summary page cancels
  partman too.
- Make "Installation complete" translatable.
  * Make sure that debconffilter never tries to call the same widget more
than once for a single command.
  * Move more frontend-independent translation logic from the GTK frontend
to espresso.misc so that other frontends can use it.

[Bug 50360] Re: Manual partitioner reports error without offering solution

gparted should really be a lot cleverer here. Fortunately, (a) you can

[Bug 53072] new shlibs dependency on libfam0 causes fam to be pulled into main

2006-07-15 Thread Colin Watson
Public bug reported:

The change in gamin's shlibs to generate dependencies on libfam0 for
linkage against libfam causes fam to be pulled into main due to (at
least) a dependency from libgnomevfs2-0
(http://people.ubuntu.com/~cjwatson/anastacia.txt). I don't believe we
really want this; gamin is sufficient for nearly everything with a few
exceptions and we've had fam in universe since hoary. I tried working
around this by adding libgamin0 to the desktop seed, but that isn't
enough because libfam0 is still pulled in via the build-dependency tree
and there's no sensible seed workaround that would avoid that.

Would it be possible for gamin's shlibs to say libgamin0 | libfam0
instead for linkage against libfam? After a gnome-vfs2 rebuild, that
would make sure we ended up with libgamin0 by default.

[Bug 53072] Re: new shlibs dependency on libfam0 causes fam to be pulled into main

2006-07-17 Thread Colin Watson
Having libfam0 listed as an alternative makes sense to me, so I don't
think we should drop the shlibs file. If programs are linked against
libfam then libfam0 should be allowed to satisfy that dependency.
libgamin0 | libfam0 seems like the right dependency to produce for
Ubuntu here (with semantics "libfam0 (mixed) virtual package, preferred
alternative libgamin0").

with that crash). It should be fixed in the first Dapper point release.

Barry, before requesting a sync you're supposed to check the base-to-
current-Debian diff to make sure it includes everything in the base-to-

individual issue that might have led to an Ubuntu patch.

John is correct that this has been fixed, but incorrect about where it

John, please only mark bugs as duplicates that exactly match the
patterns laid down by DebuggingUbiquity. I need to be spending time on
things other than double-checking the actions of bug triagers, if
possible. If you get creative then that makes things harder. :)

2006-08-30 Thread Colin Watson
This is due to the metacity change from
http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=335524; however the fault lies
in gparted for setting its dialogs to be transient on a non-toplevel

2010-09-16 Thread Colin Watson
evince (2.31.92-0ubuntu2) maverick; urgency=low

  * debian/rules:
- remove debian/evince-gtk/usr/lib/evince/* instead of
  debian/evince-gtk/usr/lib/evince/2 for not overwriting backend library
  package (LP: #637412)
  * debian/evince-gtk.install:
- Install gsettings schemas

[Bug 617967] Re: nautilus rename ctrl+c ctrl+v inserts path of file

2010-09-16 Thread Colin Watson
nautilus (1:2.31.92-0ubuntu1) maverick; urgency=low

  * New upstream version:
- String fixes for the file conflict dialog
- Add a border around infobars
- Fix a regression when copy/pasting in list view (lp: #617967)
- Re-use libunique instead of GApplication
- Drop GDK_DISABLE_DEPRECATED cflag, as we don't want to cope with
  recent GDK 2.22 deprecations for the 2.32 branch
  * debian/control.in:
- build-depends on libunique-dev
  * debian/patches/03_deprecated.patch:
- dropped, upstream is doing that so it's not required

off my list. We haven't upgraded gettext from xenial's version yet, but
I've started preparing a backport in

[Bug 1756547] Re: LP refuses to import plural strings where e.g. msgstr[0] entries in PO file miss %d

2021-09-01 Thread Colin Watson
This should now be fixed on Launchpad's end: we're running the gettext
backport that you can see in https://launchpad.net/~canonical-is-
sa/+archive/ubuntu/launchpad/+packages. Could you please try reverting
the workaround and make sure that things work properly now?
