[Bug 2067214] [NEW] Night Light not working
You have been subscribed to a public bug: Night light is not working on a fresh Ubuntu 24.04 install. Nothing about the system was changed, enabling the night light was literally the first thing I did after the very first boot of the system. I set the schedule to manual and adjusted the "Times" option such that it would enable at the time of testing. The night light icon on the top bar shows up as expected. I'm including this information on the off-chance it is somehow relevant: during the Ubuntu 24.04 install procedure, I selected the Dark theme. The system correctly booted using the Dark theme. Switching to the light theme had no effect on the Night Light functionality. [Bug 2067209] Re: wayland doesnt work after update
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. It sounds like some part of the system has crashed. To help us find the cause of the crash please follow these steps: 1. Run these commands: journalctl -b0 > journal.txt journalctl -b-1 > prevjournal.txt and attach the resulting text files here. 2. Look in /var/crash for crash files and if found run: ubuntu-bug YOURFILE.crash Then tell us the ID of the newly-created bug. 3. If step 2 failed then look at https://errors.ubuntu.com/user/ID where ID is the content of file /var/lib/whoopsie/whoopsie-id on the machine. Do you find any links to recent problems on that page? If so then please send the links to us. Please take care to avoid attaching .crash files to bugs as we are unable to process them as file attachments. [Bug 2062082] Re: 24.04 Wayland vs Nautilus performance problem
I experienced this on my desktop with Nvidia-only graphics - the "egl" message in the terminal was the tip-off that installing libnvidia-egl- wayland1, which had worked for me previously to solve some odd Wayland issues, might help here, and it did in fact help in 24.04 as well. From my "I know next to nothing" perspective, I've read articles that imply that EGL won't be needed soon for Nvidia drivers - but for the time being, should the libnvidia-egl-wayland1 package be added as a dependency to some/all of the Nvidia driver packages / to a metapackage? [Bug 2067260] [NEW] Mouse mapping randomly temporarily changes after Ubuntu 24.04 upgrade
You have been subscribed to a public bug: I could not find an exact trigger yet, but from time to time the mapping of the mouse goes crazy in browsers (at least the standard Ubuntu snap Firefox package and a Rambox Debian package which, I assume, is based on Chromium): * the wheel starts acting as if it was mapped to previous/next shortcut (so same effect than alt right/left arrows) * the left click is... well, I'm not sure, but it's not left-click anymore (clicking a link on Firefox seems to have no effect other that noticing that the link is clicked) * not sure it's related to the mapping but another problem is that some "button" seems to end up producing a click event but is never released and in some case it ends up getting a bit crazy until I find a way to stop that (clicking the mouse button has no effect in that case) A workaround which works well is to start a new Firefox windows with Ctrl+N and close it. And this workaround also fixes other impacted applications, so I guess it's much more general than Firefox. Sorry for the lack of technical detail, but I have no idea what exactly is in charge of this or what to look at. But I would gladly check anything you want as it's quite a huge pain since the Upgrade to 24.04 as you can imagine.
