Bug#597858: Removed package(s) from unstable

2010-09-27 Thread Debian FTP Masters
We believe that the bug you reported is now fixed; the following
package(s) have been removed from unstable:

xserver-xorg-video-intel | 2:2.12.0+shadow-1 | kfreebsd-amd64, kfreebsd-i386
xserver-xorg-video-intel-dbg | 2:2.12.0+shadow-1 | kfreebsd-amd64, kfreebsd-i386

--- Reason ---
ANAIS; requires kernel mode setting
--

Note that the package(s) have simply been removed from the tag
database and may (or may not) still be in the pool; this is not a bug.
The package(s) will be physically removed automatically when no suite
references them (and in the case of source, when no binary references
it). Please also remember that the changes have been done on the
master archive (ftp-master.debian.org) and will not propagate to any
mirrors (ftp.debian.org included) until the next cron.daily run at the
earliest.

Packages are usually not removed from testing by hand. Testing tracks
unstable and will automatically remove packages which were removed
from unstable when removing them from testing causes no dependency
problems. The release team can force a removal from testing if it is
really needed, please contact them if this should be the case.

Bugs which have been reported against this package are not automatically
removed from the Bug Tracking System. Please check all open bugs and
close them or re-assign them to another package if the removed package
was superseded by another one.

Thank you for reporting the bug, which will now be closed. If you
have further comments please address them to 597...@bugs.debian.org.

The full log for this bug can be viewed at http://bugs.debian.org/597858

This message was generated automatically; if you believe that there is
a problem with it please contact the archive administrators by mailing

Bug#590431: xserver-xorg-video-openchrome: cannot start X with VX800 Chipset

2010-09-27 Thread Cyril Brulebois
Hi Tobias,

Tobias Scherer (26/07/2010):

can we get an X log with vesa? Not sure if trying fbdev is relevant,
but you may want to try that as well.

Debian targets 2.6.32 for squeeze and has many patches for graphics
stuff in its kernel. Not sure it's going to change anything for
openchrome, but you may want to know that anyway.

I guess your best chance is to report a bug to upstream (bonus points
if you tell us the URL once that done, so that we can link this
bugreport).

why not look into the code, figure out what's really there, and
propose a fix against documentation (be it usage and/or manpage)
accordingly?

Can you please report libpixman-1-0's version, optionally trying with
experimental's? I haven't tried to reproduce this issue yet, not sure
whether it's depending on neomagic, either.

Bug#597992: xorg: System freezes "randomly" while in X

2010-09-27 Thread Cyril Brulebois
Hi,

Ferran Xarnach Rotllan (25/09/2010):
> This is my first bug report and I don't know exactly what to append.

nice, please run “/usr/share/bug/xserver-xorg/script 3>/tmp/script”
and attach the generated file. Hopefully it's going to tell us more
about your issue.

Is your machine still responsive through the network when the crash
happens?

What happens with the Debian kernel currently in unstable?

Anyway, feel free to report this bug upstream and report back the bug

Thanks already.

If my system boots, it should start KDM for login. This does
not work now since approximately when the new boot sequence
dependency stuff was introduced in Sid. I talked to some
people and they said, the problem would be the intel driver
not initializing fast enough. So, here's what I experience.

On system startup, X tries to start, but doesn't.
If I then log in and start X manually, it works.

If I do not have a network cable plugged in at boot time,
DHCP takes its time and X starts properly afterwards.

Do you have any idea if this could be related to the intel driver?

I could send you both Xorg.logs if you are interested.

Package: xserver-xorg-video-nv
Version: 1:2.1.17-3

I am using Debian testing on Asus U6V with external monitor. I update more
than once a week. Since roughly 2 months ago, the support for external monitor
is broken. I don't know exactly since when the bug appeared, as it only
manifests
after restart, which I don't do often. All kinds of external monitors are
affected.
Before that, all external monitors worked fine. I am not sure which package this
problem belongs to.

Asus U6V has:
nVidia Corporation G98 [GeForce 9300M GS] (rev a1)(prog-if 00 [VGA controller])
uname:
Linux b-u6v-d 2.6.32-trunk-686 #1 SMP Sun Jan 10 06:32:16 UTC 2010 i686

Ran out of time: but will have to do something soon. Installed Ubuntu and that
went
well but have mucked up the grub settings so will probably reinstall both
at some time in the next month or so. Will take the opportunity to install
debian package by package and see if I can fix this irritation while I am
at it

Apologies

First things first: does reverting to the previous openchrome version

OK, tagging moreinfo for now; if we don't get anything in the next
weeks/months, we'll just close the bug.

Bug#595300: xserver-xorg-input-synaptics: Touchpad problems with TwoFingerScroll after rebooting from Windows to Linux

2010-09-27 Thread Cyril Brulebois
Hi,

salman (02/09/2010):

couldn't it be that TwoFingerScrolling is disabled (for some reasons)
in that case, leading your cursor to go back and forth between the two
fingers which get detected?

It'd be nice to have your X log for both cases, so that we could
compare what the synaptics driver reports.

(If you want to report that upstream, see http://bugs.freedesktop.org/
that'd be the xorg product and the Input/synaptics component.)

(Message bounced to Alex, since you didn't Cc him.)

Can you please report what he asked for, that is: lspci -vnn?

Bug#597379: X freeze same problem here

Hi,

does the issue indeed disappear if you go back to the previous
openchrome version? Checking whether that could be a consequence
of a collateral upgrade…

Are you able to fetch kernel/X logs, e.g. if the machine is still
responsive over the network?

Hi.

That just means it's linked to an upstream bug report, so that
bts-link can update the Debian bug accordingly.

Typo on the To/Cc line? If there's an error in the body, you should
get an answer specifying the error(s).
