Package: xdm Version: 1:1.1.10-3 Severity: important XDM refuse to connect an user who have a password including a french accent (like characters "é à è"), but login work in virtual console. xdm "login" box allow confirmation of correct characters writing (the same "é à è"). keyboard (pc105, fr, oss ) is well configured with /etc/default/keyboard Problem was the same on Debian Lenny and configuration with xorg.conf
