It's solved if I restart the X server. That is, normally X work fine, but rarely, when I start the X server, keyboard doesn't work at all. If I restart the X server (using the mouse), keyboard works again. Sometime ago I also installed sid and keyboard didn't work every time I started the X server for first time. If I restarted the server it worked fine. But this is another clean installation. I also have woody installed in the same computer and I have never had this problem in woody. -- Package-specific info: 01:00.0 VGA compatible controller: Intel Corp. i740 (rev 21) 01:00.0 Class 0300: 8086:7800 (rev 21) Section "Monitor" Identifier "Mitsubishi Diamond Plus 73" HorizSync 30-70 VertRefresh 55-120 Option "DPMS" Modeline "1024x768" 78.80 1024 1064 1160 1312 768 769 772 800 +hsync +vsync # This is a set of standard mode timings. Bug#207976: xlibs: support modular configuration of /etc/X11/XftConfig through include directives
Package: xlibs Version: 4.3.0-0pre1v1 Severity: wishlist The idea here is to let font package maintainers sweat the details of XftConfig tweaking through an update-modules style approach. We can have an update-xftconfig command: update-xftconfig { --add | --remove } packagename E.g.: update-xftconfig --add xfonts-scalable update-xftconfig --remove ttf-freefont This command would add or remove lines of the following format from /etc/X11/XftConfig (which would have to stop being a conffile): includeif "/etc/X11/fonts/$package.xftconfig" update-xftconfig --add would be called on package install, and update-xftconfig --remove on package removal. (As usual, the issue of preserving user modifications must be addressed.) This bug may need to be reassigned to libxft2 depending on how quickly this gets implemented. -- System Information: Debian Release: testing/unstable Architecture: powerpc Kernel: Linux redwald 2.4.19-powerpc #1 Mon Sep 9 09:01:43 EDT 2002 ppc Locale: LANG=C, LC_CTYPE=en_US Versions of packages xlibs depends on: ii libc6 2.3.2-4 GNU C Library: Shared libraries an ii libexpat1 1.95.6-6 XML parsing C library - runtime li ii libfontconfig1 2.2.1-2 generic font configuration library ii libfreetype6 2.1.4-5 FreeType 2 font engine, shared lib ii libxrender10.8.2-1 X Rendering Extension client libra ii xfree86-common 4.3.0-0pre1v1 X Window System (XFree86) infrastr ii xlibs-data 4.3.0-0pre1v1 X Window System client data -- no debconf information
