the late two should not be in the debian-security

Sprich, wenn sie hier auf eine öffentliche Mailingliste posten,

Wenn sie nicht wollen, das ihre E-Mail aus GOOGLE gelöscht wird,

Account creation failed: Error 700: please contact debian-www@lists.debian.org for help if this continues.

Hi Debian-Team,

I tried to create an account on <https://wiki.debian.org/> because
I want to update the page
<https://wiki.debian.org/InstallingDebianOn/Thinkpad/T400/stretch>

But I get always the error:

Account creation failed: Error 700: please contact
debian-www@lists.debian.org for help if this continues.

Can you solv this please

However, I have Stretch installed and:

1) Switch to External Screen

BUT ONLY, IF the External Monitot is => 1280x800 pixel.
It does definitively not work with Asus, HP and Samsung
monitors with 1366x768 pixel. Maybe it is a Xorg problem

2) Modem

Is working perfectly on /dev/ttyS0 togeter with an US Robotics
   i-Modem (external ISDN Modem)

3) Wireless/Wifi

Even with Non-Free Firmware it is not working.

4) Keyboard's Hotkeys

   Working mostly, however:
   a) Fn+F2 (Lock)
  Has no function
   b) Fn+F3 (Battery symbol)
  Has no function
   c) Fn+F4 (moon symbol)
Stretch fell asleep and can not more woke up.
   d) Fn+F8 (I do not know what this is)
  Has no function
   e) Fn+F12 (Suspend to Disk)
Not tried it yet, because Hibernation and Suspend
has the same effect as c)

Thanks in avance

Not realy, I am running a development Environement called "DJGPP"
<http://www.delorie.com/djgpp> and several other peoples too.

So "DOS" should be changed to:

You can do the installation directly from CD, DVD, DOS, Windows,
floppies, USB-Keys, memory cards or even over the network.

Re: debian livcd

2008-01-08 Thread Michelle Konzack
Are you bored?

Go to the website and look for the Debian Vendors list..

Then you can get it from your country...

And if you can not get one of the desired CD's or DVD's?
It seems I have the biggest Debian Archive mirror of the world, since I
have sources, binaries, Floppies, CD's and DVD's from Debian 1.1 (Buzz)
up to Sid...

A huge mirror of <http://www.backports.org/> or the Multimedia repository.

All in summary over 11 TBytes... (maybe more) but at the end of the year
I will hit the space-limit of my server (13 TByte = Raid-6 + 2 Hotfix)

Thats weird, because there are three vendors listed:

<http://www.debian.org/CD/vendors/#se>

OK, recheced the Vendors and:

1) LinuxsShop.nu
has only 4.0r0 DVD and CD i386/powepc

2) OKIT
Is this website in a Dial-Up?
I have an internet (backbone) connection of 100 MBit and
the website loads slower then a 14400 BpS Modem and then
parts of the site are timed out

3) Wermlandsdata
has only 4.0r3 DVD i386

Debian-Team: Please can you do something with the three Vendors?
  The offerins/Sites are not serious.

Maybe the next time you should buy from an european country if you live

This option was already in Netscape Navigator 2.0.2 (1.1.5 I do not know
since it is long time ago) and was in the OSS-Mozilla since the beginning.

Do you use only Telnet for browsing? ;-) You must be realy a hardcore guy!

Short note:

I had to use "apt-get" since "aptitude" had installed the WHOLE
x.org on my Server which had never seen a X-Window-System.

"aptitude" had tried to install over 300 MByte additional
Packages on my server which are definitivly useless.

The UPGRADE from Sarge to Etch was all other as funny!

Need advice on translation/l10n of HTML pages

2007-07-09 Thread Michelle Konzack
Hello *,

not related to the Website of Debian but however:

HISTORY:

Now I am using Debian since over 8 years and have coded many scripts.
for some time, some of my older scripts stoped working...

Oops! -Commands and options had changed.

OK, I begun to reread all related "manpages" and found tonns of NEW docu
in the packages. Mostly only english which is FOR ME no problem.

OK, I know many peoples (specialy in France but Germany too) which do
not speak english.

So I have used /var/lib/dpkg/*.list on all 2800 Computers I maintain and
created an unified List of all Packages used. (It is ONLY one CD for
all 2800 Computers... and not 3 DVD's)

Walking through the packages/sources I have found out, that many packages
would be more usefull, if they have translated documentation.

So I started the project to translate the documentation (currently I am
translation the manual of "smstools" => to german)

TOOLS:

The I have found in another project the package "po4a" which should
be the way to go. but I have no experience.

Since I have found nearly 37.000 HTML pages which are worth to be
translated I need an heavy advice HOW TO setup a system which are
able to do easily translation using po-files for HTML-Documentation.

And of course, I live in a region where I do not have ADSL or a
fixed telephone line, so the entired system must work Off-Line.
(I have only GSM/GPRS/EDGE/UMTS with limited speed and traffic)

QUESTION:

Can anyone help me to setup such system?

NOTE:

My contract with the french MoD will run out at 2007-07-31 and maybe I
will get a new appartement where I will install the Server as translation
Server online.
