Security Page Unreachable!

Dear debian website team,

I have found that when clicking to "security page" link, at the debian.org 
homepage ( For older security advisories see the Security 
Page. ), I was presented by a 403 forbidden 
error message (You don't have permission to access /security/ on this server. 
Server unable to read htaccess file, denying access to be safe). Probably that 
is not an intended behavior, so I would like to inform you with this email.

I tried and I get the right page on https://www.debian.org/security/
(same result on https://www.debian.org/security/index.en.html). Did I
misunderstood the URL with 403 error?

If it's the first link, perhaps there is a problem on the page only with
your langage preference. In this case, what are the langage preferences
in you browser (in order to fix it)?

There was an issue with the permissions on the web site mirrors earlier
today. DSA ran a manual sync which seems to have made things happier, at
least for now.

it will be 406 not acceptable error in the worst case in the scenario;
but as index.html (symlink to index.en.html) exists, it will never happen.
most probability will be, he hit obsoleted mirror or proxy or dns or ...

I'd like to hear from Adrian to start with.

We need a discussion with Debian (on debian-project) about the
criteria for derivatives being listed on the website. I think that
mail should start with the history of the misc/children-distros page
and in doing so indicate that we need a criteria and include some
ideas for what that might be.

We need a discussion with derivatives folks (on debian-derivatives)
about fleshing out the why and how of creating new derivatives.

Once the feedback has been integrated into the derivatives pages, then
we can talk on debian-www about how best to connect the front page of
the website to the derivatives pages.

After that is done we can update links and add a redirect from
misc/children-distros to the new location.
