Since -www is the contact point for almost anything website related the general assumption is that people are not subscribed, especially when submitting "Who's using Debian" entries or similar. Etch DVD torrent tracker problem
Hello, When I try to download the 4.0r9 DVDs via bittorrent (transmission-gtk) I get an error: 'Tracker gave an error: "torrent not found"'. Down and upload still seem to work, so this seems to be mainly cosmetical, but I am pointing it out just in case. Excuse me for being defensive, but you described *no* wording issues or even any word related to "wording" in your last email. Shall I re-prepare the patch now, or there is something else I should take care of in the paragraph? > Sorry for forgetting my standard P.S. for -www ("I assumed you are not > subscribed, hence the CC") though. I am thinking since yesterday about customizing Mailman a bit, in order to avoid such often situations. So far, my only workable idea was to have it send an extra string in signature or headers, if the sender is subscribed, so one can easily see if sender is subscribed or not when replying. Debian 4.0 etch is well past end of life, no longer security supported and has been moved to the archive. We strongly suggest you upgrade to at least the current stable release (squeeze) or the upcoming stable release (wheezy). I need Etch for a build environment (precisely because of its age), not as a general-purpose system. The torrent issue doesn't seem to be causing me problems, and if it doesn't worry you then no need to pursue it any further. By the way, it would be great if you could also seed the torrents you offer yourselves - not necessarily with very much bandwidth, but enough so that people can still download torrents which no one "external" is seeding.
