Acces forbidden when trying to access Debian Reference Guide

2009-07-16 Thread Alexandre Magaz Graça

Hi,

When I try to access to Debian Reference Guide from this link

http://www.debian.org/doc/manuals/reference/index.en.html

I get this:

Forbidden

You don't have permission to access /doc/manuals/reference/index.en.html
on this server.

Apache/2.2.9 (Debian) DAV/2 Server at www.debian.org Port 80

Other languages and formats give the same error.

Coud you please submit this problem as a bug in a way that I can
forward it upstream?

Thanks.

See our logo license at http://www.debian.org/logos/ for a more detailed
version. The short version would be "of course".

That's okay, too.

Yes. (Excluding English)

I now have html at /doc/manuals/debian-reference/index.en.html

Currently we have wml macro for html text ps pdf. I want to have "one
page html". I was going to fix all later with this fix.

I just tried that link and it worked for me. Are you still

Wait I make symlink from
 old /doc/manuals/reference
 new /doc/manuals/debian-reference
so you should not have problem if mirror works.

I just updated Japanese pages for doc/*

I should fix them all now that I have copy of new CVS.

If OP was clicking link to short quick-reference, it is not there.
If OP was clicking PS or PDF, they are not build yet.

Since building PDF/PS is quite CPU intensive and prone to break, I
really need this.

Is symlink safe for sync mechanism?

Yes, as long it is a relative symlink and not a absolute one (see past
issues on developer-reference).

Checked their website, seems okay. They are now added and will appear
once the website has been rebuilt (in about 3 hours).

As for developer-reference, it's because you use ftp.us.d.o.

It's still broken from Europe, because of absolute symlinks.

Here attached is the patch against the quick-reference makefile I've
commited.

Best regards.

Bug#537306: d.o/international/Makefile: conditionnal subdirs never updated because $(LANGUAGE) Makefile targets never match

2009-07-16 Thread Simon Paillard
Package: www.debian.org
Severity: normal

Hi all,

A while ago, french team members noticed updates to
webml/french/international/french were not taken into account on the
website (and given the Makefile, it certainly affects spanish and
dutch).

This is a request for help since I don't see where is the issue.

Here is the status (consider as a example french/{dwn_trans|web}.wml
* from webml/french/international/french, the Makefile is correct and
the html file is rebuild as expected.

* from webml/french/international/, the Makefile seems correct but the
html file is not rebuild if needed.

However, if we look with care to english/international/Makefile:

 ifeq "$(LANGUAGE)" "fr"
 SUBS += french
 endif

* if I add a specific debug target :
debug:
^...@echo $(SUBS)
^...@echo $(LANGUAGE)
=> I can see that SUBS doesn't contain french, while :
 - $(LANGUAGE) contains fr
 - ifeq syntax is correct
 - SUBS syntax is correct (tested outside the ifeq)

Any idea ?

Ah, thanks for the explanation. I keep forgetting that www.debian.org
now resolves to multiple systems.
