Seems not to be the style of www.debian.org's html - and there already is a
'...' on this very page, which I
haven't noticed previously. So I have kept that style.

So, perhaps somebody will commit this one?

Thanks for the demo code, but we don't use PHP on the official web

Release notes for website

2004-12-02 Thread Rob Bradford
I made some recent changes to the release notes build system, this should allow
them to now be integrated with the website. The sarge release notes now form
HEAD and woody are tagged off as woody.

I would appreciate it if the folks with access to the webwml tree and scripts on
klecker would get these building and installed into the apropriate place or
arrange access for me to make the changes myself.

Cheers,

Rob

AFAICT all necessary changes have been made. The woody release notes are
now build from the CVS (if you have fixed the problem with the japanese
version, didn't check), the sarge ones build and installed under
releases/sarge/release-notes/ (they are not linked until now though).

If you want to know how the release pages will look like once sarge
is released, you can take a look at
http://higgs.djpig.de/debian-www/releases/sarge/, the links to the
release notes should work there.

switching packages.debian.org first?

2004-12-02 Thread Frank Lichtenheld
Bcc:
Subject: Re: dwww with css, was: Examples Debian WWW with css
Reply-To:
In-Reply-To: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>

Just a little addition to the whole XHTML, CSS discussion:
If someone would provide me with a sample layout for packages.debian.org
and a CSS file I could switch these pages within a day to this new
layout. Since they are all script generated, the transition is way less
painfull than for the rest of the Debian web pages.
The layout is very similar to web pages themself so there might
be a positive side effect, too.

Just if someone wants to target a short-term goal prior to the really
big challenges ;)

I have inspected the following files:

  release-notes.da.txt
  release-notes.en.pdf
  release-notes.en.txt
  release-notes.es.txt

Given that the ddtp is down for months, pointing to it is IMO not
a good idea, so I am closing this bug. Feel free to reopen or file
a new one when it is back.
Thanks.

WWW bug

2004-12-02 Thread Misha Stepanov
Dear Debian Team,

the web page
  http://www.debian.org/devel/wnpp/rfa_bymaint.html
(Packages up for adoption, by maintainer) contains
  S<2 symbols>ren Boll Overgaard
that looks differently for different languages chosen (and usually
incorrect, see http://soren.overgaard.org/cgi-bin/index for the way how
it should look like). It looks correct if "Unicode UTF-8" encoding is
chosen, although the source code of the page contains
  charset=iso-8859-1
(charset=iso-8859-15 for rfa_bymaint.fr.html, etc).

One way to correct it is to type
  Søren
then it survives encoding changes by hands, etc.

Best regards,
Misha Stepanov
