Bug#147164: Also add information on how translations should work
The policy should also state, in order to avoid repeated work in translations, how should people proceed when trying to translated manuals available in the DDP. 1.- tell the maintainer so he's aware of it (he can keep track of a README.translators file with all the people responsible) 2.- get in touch with the local translation team (mailing list if available or send announcement of "Intention to Translate" to debian-i18n) or with the translation coordinator (listed in the website?). Also note that some languages have translation coordination information at www.debian.org/intl/language 3.- Documents must mark what version was translated (to keep track of changes) in a similar way of the one used for wml page in the website. There shall be a README.translators file in the root directory of the DDP CVS to explain this procedure. Regards Javi -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe". space in a link
Hello, I found a little mistake on a link at this page: http://www.debian.org/misc/related_links of your web site. The link is: http:// www.emdebian.org/ instead of http://www.emdebian.org/ Regards Jacques Dupeyrou -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe". Trouble? Error in the l10n page language list
In the localisation page, the language list includes both tr and tr_TR. These should be merged. One is named Turkish, and the other Turkish spoken in Turkey. There are several dialects of Turkish, but they have their own names, like az for Azerbaijani Turkish and uz for Uzbek Turkish, etc. There is no point in separating into two. In the tr_TR branch, there are only two PO files, the rest is in tr. -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe". Trouble? Contact [EMAIL PROTECTED]

When fixed packages are uploaded, tr_TR will vanish. Denis -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe". Trouble? Contact [EMAIL PROTECTED]

Matt Kraai: > In the future, please specify in which language the problem occurs. We tend to have this problem (not specifying the language) a lot. Perhaps we should create some kind of "Bug report this page" on the pages that would send the user to a form with the page (with language) already filled in, or something? The current instructions consist of the following: * a link at the bottom of the page in small text, which states See the Debian contact page for information on contacting us. , and * a section entitled `Problems with Debian infrastructure' at the bottom of that page, which contains the following text: To report a problem with a Debian service, you can usually report a bug against the appropriate pseudo-package. Alternatively, use e-mail to contact them: Web pages editors debian-www@lists.debian.org Before adding a form, we should improve these instructions and see if that eliminates the problem. I think we should add the following section to the contact page[1] (preferably near the top): Problems with the Debian web site To report a problem with the Debian web site, report a bug[2] against the www.debian.org pseudo-package or e-mail [EMAIL PROTECTED] Please include the language and URL of the page containing the problem. To help fix a problem, please see our web site editing instructions[3].
