For translators in general, yes. But IMHO not for

Debian project bug listings

2001-11-30 Thread Grant Bowman
Hi there,

I was just looking at http://www.debian.org/Bugs/ and found no option to
see the Bugs and packages listed that are not real packages. I think
items in this category would include debian-policy. I'm presently
hunting for the ftp maintainers package.

I am recommending another line under "The following bug report indices
are available:" to say something like

Debian project active and archived bug reports.

Hopefully there is a simple way to query for these unusual and important
packages. I am willing to help implement this if I can.

Thanks,

That one's called "ftp.debian.org", BTW.

Hmm, there's a page that lists those things -- we call them pseudo-packages,
and it's at http://www.debian.org/Bugs/pseudo-packages

korean debian webpages

2001-11-30 Thread Gerfried Fuchs
Hello there!

I noticed that the translation of the korean pages is hopelessly
outdated. Current stats are:

Language Translations Up to date Outdated Not translated
Korean (ko) 112 (10%) 12 (1%) 100 (9%) 964 (90%)

I am wondering what the problem is. Do you have no time anymore to
uptdate the pages? Are you the only one in your team?

Maybe it would be an idea to write a mail to some announce mailinglist
or korean user mailinglist (I'm not aware if there is any) and ask for
some volunteers. If you personally don't have the time anymore to work
on the translations please let us know so we maybe could find a
replacement or a support for you - but simply fading away is not a good
option

I'm Cc:ing this mail to the debian-www mailinglist which you must (not
enforced) read as a translation coordinator. Don't take it as a
personal insult or anything - I truly adore anybody who is helping in
this great project. Take it merely as a kind reminder to get let us
know where the problem may lie.

Thank you for your great work so far, of course,
Alfie

Wonderful! I knew this had to exist and I've seen that page before, I just
couldn't find it.

Then this request becomes a simple one, just add a link and a clear description
from /Bugs/ to the pseudo-packages.

Package: www.debian.org
Version: 20011124
Severity: normal

Mozilla defaults to en-us as the only language for content negotiation. In the
absence of this page, I was getting the Indonesian version instead! I've added
'en' to my language settings as a workaround.

 Please read about why you
*don't* want to just have en-us as language but en at least
additionally. That's how content negotiation works.

Btw - is this still the default for current mozilla? It was filed as
bugreport against mozilla some time back and closed already... Maybe
it's time to reopen it? Can you please check that?

 Thanks,
Alfie [closing it]
