Shouldn't it be in /org/www.debian.org/apache.conf?

Ok, I'll revert that one. But the typo was abbonere instead of
abonnere. Which is clearly a typo. :)

Version: N/A; reported 2001-05-10
Severity: normal

According do packages.d.o, postgresql-pl is at 7.0.3-4 in unstable. However,
its source is from postgresql, which is now at 7.1release-4 . The stale
postgresql-pl package should probably be removed.

In a related problem, postgresql-pl in testing is even more stale: 6.5.3-26 .
I think it should be removed too, since the 7.1release-4 postgresql is also in
testing now.

Bug#90458: this is merely due to Apache misconfiguration

2001-05-21 Thread Josip Rodin
retitle 90458 some web mirrors' Apaches default to unconfigured zh-HK when
given Accept-Language they can't serve
reassign 90458 mirrors
severity 90458 important
thanks

I've checked several mirrors with lynx with bg,mk as the preferred language:

  * www.debian.org: English
  * www.de.debian.org: Chinese zh-HK
  * www.uk.debian.org: Chinese zh-HK
  * www.fr.debian.org: Chinese, plus it offered me a cookie?!
  * www.dk.debian.org: Chinese zh-HK
  * www.za.debian.org: Chinese zh-HK
  * www.ru.debian.org: Russian
  * www.es.debian.org: Spanish

This is most problably due to the fact that we don't have zh-hk mentioned on
the web pages for the web mirrors, d'oh! Which is probably because the
change was made in /etc/apache/srm.conf and not
/org/www.debian.org/apache.conf, so I haven't noticed it

We probably need to inspect the apache config files on klecker, get them in
shape (i.e. put the settings specific to www.d.o in the small config file,
not srm.conf), and then put the new settings in /mirror/webmirror After
that, the boring job of asking mirror maintainers to update their configs.

Someone should probably file a bug against Apache for acting like this, too.

I'd be notified soon after it happened (e.g. yesterday when some dependencies

We need to be careful here. The config files for /org/*/apache.conf
are simply included from /etc/apache/httpd.conf. This means anything
outside of a affects apache globally.

I believe the config files are read in the following order:
httpd.conf srm.conf access.conf. If this is correct, setting
LanguagePriority in /org/www.debian.org/apache.conf will simply
be overriden by the value in srm.conf.

I recommend that no global changes are made in included files as it
makes tracking down problems much more difficult.

I suggest the value of SUBS not be changed. If a subdir does not
exist, everything works properly. BUT, if a subdir exists, it should
contain a Makefile or it will cause an error in the build.

This is explained in devel/website/translating. You have read that,
haven't you? :)

Doesn't this eliminate the need for included sub-config-files? I mean,
debwww members can edit them, but they can't make the configuration changes
propagate since they can't reload the daemon. And now this.

old template directories

The template directories in the individual language directories

Unless I get a response giving a good reason for keeping them,

Site map

2001-05-21 Thread Josip Rodin
Hi,

I've almost finished the site map[1]. It should be fairly complete. I didn't
include any of the smaller subpages, like devel/extract_key and such, just
the (semi-)important stuff.

It shouldn't be translated as in copied to another directory (and edited),
because the links can change and it would be a pain to maintain. So I've put
everything in tags and used relative paths in the Perl snippet. However, I'm
having some trouble getting it to work correctly for translations. I've
tried this (for Croatian, but the same thing can be done for other
languages[2]):

wml -q -D CUR_YEAR=2001 -o UNDEFuHR:[EMAIL PROTECTED] ../english/sitemap.wml \
 -D CUR_LANG=Croatian -D CUR_ISO_LANG=hr -D CHARSET=iso-8859-2

For the most part, it worked, but the title and the sliced tags are missing
and in English, respectively. Can anyone advise, how to perfect this? I'm
out of ideas.

[1] http://www.debian.org/sitemap
[2] by adding this to index.html rule in the Makefile:

ifneq "$(LANGUAGE)" "en"
$(shell echo $(WML) | sed s/index/sitemap/) \
  $(shell echo $(ENGLISHDIR) | sed s,./,,)/sitemap.wml \
$(shell egrep '^-D (CUR_|CHAR)' .wmlrc)
endif

I noticed later that the slices were used, it's just that HR slices that I
looked at were either the same as EN ones or nonexistent.

So, I'll edit the Makefiles for all of the languages RSN and then we can
start thinking of implementing the first item of the TODO list.

Bug#86681: Wrong address for debian-user-de

2001-05-21 Thread Josip Rodin

To fix this bug, two things need to be done: edit
webwml/english/MailingLists/desc/int/debian-user-de (easy) and edit
cgi.debian.org:/org/cgi.debian.org/cgi-bin/subscribe.pl (not too hard).

But the important thing is that we need to know the unsubscription method.

Bug#87820: Link to Kernel Cousin Debian

2001-05-21 Thread Josip Rodin
Hi,

Kernel Cousin Debian is currently "sleeping", i.e. it's not getting updated.
I don't know where exactly to put the link in this case...

(sorry for the awfully slow reply time :)

maybe this would be better in -project =)

I saw the '.br' in your email and wondered if you know about the
debian-user-portuguese mailing list, do you?

try http://www.debian.org/international/Portuguese or
http://debian-br.sourceforge.net for information about Debian in
portuguese =)

The search program didn't like having three non-alphanumeric chars in
a row, i.e. '++-'. It is now fixed.

Package: www.debian.org
Version: 20010509
Severity: normal

http://packages.debian.org/cgi-bin/search_packages.pl?keywords=task-c%2B%2B-dev&searchon=names&version=all&release=all
yields

No responses to your query.
ignored: task-c++-dev

Yet the package is certainly there, as a search with `Descriptions' for task-c*
will show.
