Many thanks for what you have done, and it's your right to push the reset
button, I totally understand you.

I would be happy to take care of debiancontributors, since I would like to be
more involved in Debian Project, but do you plan to continue be the upstream
developer? This would be great... or well, if I can occasionally ask on design
etc if I will have doubts. As I said I totally understand you, so I would like
to disturb you as little as possible.

So, as a practical plan, I could start to work initially on the packaging
(IIUC you did mention a backport for stable in the DPMT IRC channel) and
gradually be more involved. Do you think this is feasible? Or if you have a
better plan just tell me!

I'm a DM and a member of the DPMT, but I'm fine to leave debiancontributors on
collab-maintain. Just tell me what do you prefer.

Kind regards,

Bug#813896: Retitling

2016-02-06 Thread Ole Streicher
Control: retitle -1 pyasdf -- Python tools to handle ASDF files

Since the python package is called pyasdf, and also the name space of a
language specific implementation should IMO not pollute the common
format name, the package (and the git repository) is renamed to pyasdf.

Please note that there is a Python package name conflict for this package:
https://github.com/spacetelescope/pyasdf/issues/186

There was agreement between the two parties, but no action yet to resolve that
Python package name conflict.

Ole, maybe you could comment there and encourage them to resolve that issue,
or at least let them know that packaging for Debian is ongoing?

If these are commandline tools that happen to be written in Python then
the package name makes good sense. If however it is Python libraries
then please use python-asdf as package name.

I usually name the source package name like the upstream package name
now (so, without the python-). In this case, I would however use pyasdf,
since this also an upstream name for the package, and since it reads the
asdf *format*, I would not take this name for a language specific
package (likely, a hypothetical tcl package would then be tcl-asdf).

However, there is an upstream/pypi name confusion with another
format/package (*seismic* data instead of *scientific* data) which they
should resolve -- see the comment from Christoph Deil and the according
guthub issue. I will take whatever comes out there as a package name.

Cheers

Ole

* URL : https://github.com/kdave/btrfsmaintenance

  Programming Lang: shell
  Description : Btrfs maintenance toolbox

This is a set of scripts supplementing the btrfs filesystem and aims to
automate a few maintenance tasks. This means the scrub, balance, trim or
 defragmentation.
Each of the tasks can be turned on/off and configured independently. The
default config values were selected to fit the default installation profile of
openSUSE 13.2 where the root filesystem is formatted to btrfs. Support for
other distros is possible and patches are welcome.
Overall tuning of the default values should give a good balance between effects
of the tasks and low impact of other work on the system. If this does not fit
your needs, please adjust the settings.

I am looking for co-mainteiners for this package.
I do need a sponsor for this package.

The latter sentence sounds strange on a package description for
Debian. I recommend removing it, and only keeping the patches part iff
the Debian maintainer of btrfsmaintenance is willing to handle and
upstream patches as well.

  Description : Global Arrays Toolkit

The Global Arrays Toolkit consists of the following:

GA (Global Arrays) is a portable Non-Uniform Memory Access (NUMA)
shared-memory programming environment for distributed and shared memory
computers. It augments the message-passing model by providing a
shared-memory like access to distributed dense arrays.

ARMCI (Aggregate Remote Memory Copy Interface) provides one-sided remote
memory operations used by GA.

DRA (Disk Resident Arrays) is a parallel I/O library that maintains
dense 2-dim arrays on disk.

SF (Shared Files) is a parallel I/O library that allows noncollective
I/O to a parallel file.

EAF (Exclusive Access Files) is parallel I/O library that supports I/O
to private files.

TCGMSG is a simple, efficient, but becoming obsolete message-passing
library.

TCGMSG-MPI is a TCGMSG interface implementation on top of MPI and ARMCI.

MA is a dynamic memory allocator/manager for Fortran and C programs.

GA++ is a C++ binding for global arrays.

Three libraries are built, libga, libga++ and libarmci.

Bug#809157: Please cancel new rakudo-star package

Hello

All in all, I think the rakudo-star [1] package is not a good idea: that big a
bundle is not easy to manage and may discourage people to join rakudo team
(aka Perl6).

Could you please cancel this package ?

I'll upload the Perl6 modules one by one (albeit more slowly...)

All the best

Is trim different from fstrim (util-linux)? It also ships systemd timer
configuration as an example, maybe we could enable those by default?

Is manual defrag a thing one should do today? What's the advantage/what
are the drawbacks over autodefrag (and making that the default)?

Would it make sense to partially expand the acronym in the short

  Version : 1.03
  Upstream Author : William Fletcher
* URL : http://abacus.gene.ucl.ac.uk/software/indelible/
* License : GPL
  Programming Lang: C++
Description : A powerful and flexible simulator of biological evolution

INDELible is a new, portable, and flexible application for biological
sequence simulation that combines many features in the same place for
the first time. Using a length-dependent model of indel formation it
can simulate evolution of multi-partitioned nucleotide, amino-acid,
or codon data sets through the processes of insertion, deletion, and
substitution in continuous time.
..
Nucleotide simulations may use the general unrestricted model or the
general time reversible model and its derivatives, and amino-acid
simulations can be conducted using fifteen different empirical rate
matrices. Substitution rate heterogeneity can be modelled via the
continuous and discrete gamma distributions, with or without a proportion
of invariant sites. INDELible can also simulate under non-homogenous
and non-stationary conditions where evolutionary models are permitted
to change across a phylogeny.
..
Unique among indel simulation programs, INDELible offers the ability to
simulate using codon models that exhibit nonsynonymous/synonymous rate
ratio heterogeneity among sites and/or lineages.

Bug#813969: O: eyed3

2016-02-06 Thread Alexander Wirt
Package: wnpp
Severity: normal

Hi,

I don't use eyed3 anymore, nor do I python anymore. The new eyed3
buildsystem is also fishy and I wasn't able to release a package based
on recent versions. Therefore it would be best if I orphan this
package and give it to someone more familiar with python.

Bug#813971: ITP: fuel-library -- misc utilities for fuel

2016-02-06 Thread Thomas Goirand
Package: wnpp
Severity: wishlist
Owner: Thomas Goirand

* Package name: fuel-library
  Version : 9.0_0+2016.02.04.git.8094062c62+dfsg1
  Upstream Author : OpenStack Foundation
* URL : https://github.com/openstack/fuel-library
* License : Apache-2.0
  Programming Lang: Python
Description : misc utilities for fuel

Fuel is an open source deployment and management tool for OpenStack. Developed
as an OpenStack community effort, it provides an intuitive, GUI-driven
experience for deployment and management of OpenStack, related community
 projects and plug-ins.
 .
Fuel brings consumer-grade simplicity to streamline and accelerate the
otherwise time-consuming, often complex, and error-prone process of deploying,
testing and maintaining various configuration flavors of OpenStack at scale.
Unlike other platform-specific deployment or management utilities, Fuel is an
upstream OpenStack project that focuses on automating the deployment and
testing of OpenStack and a range of third-party options, so it’s not
compromised by hard bundling or vendor lock-in.

This source package produces:
 - fuel-ha-utils (various High Availability tools for Fuel)
 - fuel-misc (various shell scripts)
 - fuel-rabbit-fence (RabbitMQ fencing utilitites for Fuel)
 - fuel-umm (Unified maintenance mode tools)

It also contains various Puppet scripts, which I'm not sure where to put yet,
but for sure, they must be packaged, and will appear somewhere.
