Do you think there is value in having many versions available?
(Ubuntu seems to have this.) I was planning to separately package
3.3, 3.4, 3.5, and 3.6, so users could have the version they wanted.
(I was planning on earlier versions as well, but if there's no hope of
getting into squeeze-backports, I see little purpose.)

Bug#576630: brain party: DFSG-package

2012-12-22 Thread Dmitry Smirnov
Dear team,

I committed initial packaging for "Brain Party" to

http://anonscm.debian.org/gitweb/?p=pkg-games/brainparty.git

Some testing and licensing double-check will be appreciated.

(Due to limited time I'm not converting RFS to ITP just yet so anyone who
interested is welcome to take over).

Regards,
Dmitry.

Bug#696548: RFA: ghdl -- VHDL compiler/simulator using GCC technology

2012-12-22 Thread Wesley J. Landaker
Package: wnpp
Severity: normal

Due to time constraints, focus on other projects, and reduced upstream
activity, my hand is being forced, and I'm not able to keep this package
in Debian, so I'm requesting an adopter for the ghdl package.

The package description is:
(Description from the GHDL home page ):
 .
GHDL is a VHDL simulator, using the GCC technology.
 .
VHDL is a language standardized by the IEEE, intended for developing
 electronic systems.
 .
GHDL implements the VHDL language according to the IEEE 1076-1987 or
the IEEE 1076-1993 standard. GHDL compiles VHDL files and creates a
binary which simulates (or executes) your design.
 .
GHDL does not do synthesis: it cannot translate your design into a
 netlist.
