Bug#454993: RFH: fglrx-driver -- non-free AMD/ATI r5xx, r6xx display driver
Package: wnpp Severity: normal Hi ! I've mantained this driver for some times now, and I think it would be better to maintain it as a team. Honnestly this piece of software is not really great, but it's really needed for a lot of users. Because it is not free, most of the time the only way to deal with bugs and new X servers is to try to stick as much as possible to latest released version, and hope it fixes more issues than it creates.. Also, many issues are hardware related, and the more we are, the more likely we'll be able to reproduce and fix it.. So, I'm ready to create a team on alioth and co-maintain this package.. LZMA, short for Lempel-Ziv-Markov chain-Algorithm, is a data compression algorithm in development since 2001 and used in the 7z format of the 7-Zip archiver. It uses a dictionary compression scheme somewhat similar to LZ77 and features a high compression ratio (generally higher than bzip2) and a variable compression-dictionary size (up to 1 GB). LZMA uses an improved LZ77 compression algorithm, backed by a range coder. Streams for data, repeated-sequence size and repeated-sequence location seem to be compressed separately. This package has python bindings for the LZMA compression library. The features include: - Compression / decompression of a single block of data - Compression from a file-like object (must provide a read method) - Streaming decompression through multiple calls to decompress - An initial library that supports reading of 7-zip archives (both solid and non-solid) - -- System Information: Debian Release: 4.0 APT prefers testing APT policy: (900, 'testing'), (800, 'unstable'), (700, 'experimental') Architecture: i386 (i686) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/bash Kernel: Linux 2.6.15-1-686 Locale: LANG=en_IN, LC_CTYPE=en_IN (charmap=UTF-8) -BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE- Version: GnuPG v1.4.5 (GNU/Linux) iD8DBQFFbtSZ4eu+pR04mIcRAlszAJ0eJ+nFDgWh8/EraIlLjl8HEWm9rgCfZ4t7 cXWweLZ9jZA7/2iMdzS5Y88= =7X18 -END PGP SIGNATURE- --- End Message --- --- Begin Message --- Hello, This is an automatic mail sent to close the ITP you have reported or are involved with. Bug#455068: ITP: qlandkarte -- manage and visualize GPS data and upload/download to GPSr
Package: wnpp Severity: wishlist Owner: Michael Hanke <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> * Package name: qlandkarte Version : 0.5.3 Upstream Author : Oliver Eichler <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> * URL : http://qlandkarte.sourceforge.net/ * License : GPL Programming Lang: C++ Description : manage and visualize GPS data and upload/download to GPSr This package provides a free-software replacement of the commercial Garmin MapSource program. Hi, The "waimea" package has been orphaned for a very long time now (in fact, it's one of the oldest orphaned packages in Debian). I'm going through such packages, to see if they can be safely removed from Debian, since noone seems to care about them. You are receiving this mail because your name showed up somewhere in the history of the package, or because I think that you might be interested for some reason, or because you maintain a related/similar package. Are you interested in adopting this package? Do you know potential adopters? If so, could you forward them this mail, Ccing the BTS and me? With no action from anyone, I'll request the removal of this package from Debian after a month. Bug#454349: RFA: biomode -- Emacs mode to edit genetic data (fwd)
Le Wed, Dec 05, 2007 at 10:06:08AM +0100, Andreas Tille a écrit : > Hi, > > anybody wants to take over bio-mode? Hi all, I had a look at bio-mode and actually found a bug :( http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=455102 The upstream sources are unmaintained, but there are still some persons developping emacs modes for biology. http://www.red-bean.com/ale/ http://personalpages.manchester.ac.uk/staff/sam.griffiths-jones/software/ralee/ Maybe we could contact the upstream author of bio-mode as well as the authors of ale and ralee and ask them if they are interested in keeping bio-mode up-to date with the recent emacs versions ? In last ressort, I can try to post a request for help on newsgroups such as bionet.software. I will try biomode on emacs22 when I have the opportunity. If it does not work with this one, the least we can to is to update the dependancies of biomode, but of course, a real fix would be preferable… Have a nice day, -- Charles Plessy http://charles.plessy.org Wakō, Saitama, Japan
