retitle 392823 ITP: prayer -- fast IMAP-based web mail system with few dependencies owner 392823 Magnus Holmgren <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> thanks I've sent some questions and comments upstream. Most notably, * Prayer assumes that folders can't contain other folders, even if the IMAP server supports it. It appears that Dovecot with Maildir doesn't work very well with Prayer - all folders are treated as directories. Directories are containers for folders and other directories, but can't contain any mail. I don't know if this is an unavoidable problem with libc-client, or just a design mistake in Prayer. Anyway Prayer probably works best with UW-imapd. * Currently, there is no IPv6 support. However, prayer-session uses libc-client to connect to the IMAP server, and IPv6 support can be acheived there by building with the version of libc-client currently in experimental. * The modified UTF-7 encoding isn't supported, which means that non- ASCII characters in folder names won't work. -- Magnus Holmgren[EMAIL PROTECTED] (No Cc of list mail needed, thanks) pgpxw2jOiz3A6.pgp Description: PGP signature

Bug#396408: RFA: powernowd -- control cpu speed and voltage
Package: wnpp I now prefer the kernel-resident ondemand governor, and no longer use powernowd myself. It would be great if someone who actually uses the package would take over as maintainer of it. Upstream has been very responsive and easy to work with. None of the open bugs are particularly hideous. Contributing to the discussion Per Olofsson has initiated around how cpufreq-detect should be implemented in Debian would be a good thing for the new maintainer to do. My thoughts on this topic are mostly captured in the bug log for #367307. Bdale -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe". Trouble? Contact [EMAIL PROTECTED]

Bug#393753: Commercial demo in Debian?
Cc: [EMAIL PROTECTED] - please see below. 2006/10/31, Baruch Even <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: Hi, I don't think it is appropriate for Debian to carry a commercial demo in its archive, not even in the non-free which is officially not part of Debian. Any other commercial program in the non-free archive is a full program and not time-limited, in addition it will provide the right to distribute it, if there is no distribution right the program will only have an installer package. I respectfully disagree. :-) There is no rule against time-limited demos in non-free. The demo is provided in a shell archive and there is no license when you download it. The embedded license does allow distribution but under some specific terms which I'm not sure we can comply with. Dear Sir/Madam at CodeWeavers Inc., My name is Jason Spiro and I am working to encourage the Debian GNU/Linux project to include a time-limited demo of CrossOver Linux in the Debian package repository. This will make it possible for Debian users and some Ubuntu users to simply type "apt-get install crossover-demo" in order to install it. I believe this will be a boon for the popularity of your product. We are unsure if the license agreement for the product allows Debian to redistribute the package from the Debian servers. Are you willing to work with us to help us get a demo version of CrossOver into Debian? Please carbon-copy your reply to [EMAIL PROTECTED] Kind regards, Jason Spiro [EMAIL PROTECTED] Note: I do not officially represent the Debian Project whatsoever. The biggest (only) problem is the choice of venue clause, which can be considered to make the package unsuitable for distribution - at least theoretically. -- Magnus Holmgren [EMAIL PROTECTED] [EMAIL PROTECTED] pgpDjIcMFnCXP.pgp Description: PGP signature

Bug#335699: ITA: libxslt-ruby
I needed this package and found it a litle aged. So I did some work on the latest release (version 0.9.2) and now I have a working package. I'll look for a sponsor soon and then send this package to review. -- Filipe Lautert -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe". Trouble? Contact [EMAIL PROTECTED]

Bug#282075: Why do we still keep it?
Why do we need this library? There is no other package that depends on it, the GTK+/Gnome world has this or an equivalent one integrated as a part of it and no users for this are left in Debian. Bug#393753: Commercial demo in Debian?

That's true, and I'm not even likely to propose a GR to stop it if some DD decided to do it. I know that I will not make such a package, or even spend the time to verify that the license allows us to put such a package in non-free. Bug#396117: ITP: cpufreq-detect -- detect CPU frequency control driver
Peter Palfrader wrote: > How come it never outputs p4_clockmod? I use that happily on several > different machines. > I can confirm I've tried it on a machine. The performance impact was substantial (at least if I allowed it to go to its lowest speed); the power consumption difference was immeasurable[0]. Have you actually measured the power savings? [0] Immeasurable as in the measurement equipment (an UPS with load indication, in this case) could not notice any difference. The same UPS does notice a substantial difference with K8 chips. -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe". Trouble? Contact [EMAIL PROTECTED]
