Bug#268016: Cross-domain cookie injection is a kdelibs bug
reassign 268016 kdelibs4 thanks mate Hi.. this is a problem with kdelibs (not kdebase). A fix will be uploaded to t-p-u tonight. b.
Bug#268821: acknowledged by developer (Re: Bug#268821: kdelibs: kde 3.3.0 does not compile!)
btw i found out what the problem is: CXX="ccache g++". that means that there is a problem with the KDE build process such that a multi-argument CXX argument could cause problems. for example defining CXX="g++ -g" could produce unexpected results. or defining CXX for cross-compilation... Bug#268893: kuickshow no longer auto-rotates images from a digicam

Sorry for the large size :-/ No problem. I rescaled it using imagemagick this way: convert -resize 250x200 IMG_0791.JPG thumb.jpg The strange thing, is that kuickshow shows it rotated (vertically), but konqueror shows it horizontally in the preview. > When I direct kuickshow to the folder containing this image, the thumbnails > is correctly shown rotated (propably because it was created with an older > version), but when I open the image, it is not rotated. > Also, when I copy the image to another directory, the thumbnails is no > longer rotated. OK, then, i think you are missing a package that I have installed, and that is the responsible of the rotating. Can you check if you have installed the kdegraphics-kfile-plugins? If you have, please provide the output of apt-cache showpkg kuickshow. You can also try to run debsums kdegraphics and see if all is OK. I can confirm this. I see the same after executing the command you sent me. The orientation seems to be stored correctly in the file, but konqueror fails to heed it. kuickshow does fine. > > Oh, and there's someting else, I just noticed: The properties window that > > opens when you press Alt+Enter no longer shows the EXIF information. This > > seems related. > > OK, then, i think you are missing a package that I have installed, and that > is the responsible of the rotating. Can you check if you have installed the > kdegraphics-kfile-plugins? Ah, that's it. Re-Installed it and everything is just as it used to be. I vaguely remember that this package was deselected when the first chunk of the KDE 3.3 upgrade came it. I concluded it was absorbed into some other package back then. So maybe kuickshow should Suggests: kdegraphics-kfile-plugins. But that's a minor issue. The konqueror issue seems more important and strange. Maybe it's the order of the EXIF tags that varies between files created by the digicam and imagemagick that confuses konqueror but not kuickshow... Nadine

Maybe it has some meaning for Spanish-speaking folks (where you have the upside ! in the beginning of a phrase that has a ! in the end, so beginning ! is stripped when sorting), but in Russian such convention doesn't exist. OTOH, in the drop-down menus with the folder lists (e.g. "Move to folder...") the sorting is OK, the said folders come in the beginning. Bug#267434: This solution is wrong
krdc doesn't work with rdesktop 1.3.1. Yes this is problem but you can workaroud it by calling rdesktop directly. Now krdc conflict with rdesktop 1.3.1 and there is no rdesktop 1.3.2 (see http://www.rdesktop.org - 1.3.1 is latest stable version) so you can't workaroud it by calling rdesktop directly. This is much worse situation!!! -- Petr Baláš (petr at balas dot cz)

Bug#269068: Have kdepim-kio-plugins installed?
Hi. I had almost the same config (and problem) than you, and the solution was the package kdepim-kio-plugins, which provides newimap4 service support. Bug#269132: arts 1.3 completely untested against kde 3.2
Package: arts Version: 1.3.0-1 Severity: serious Hi. It looks like arts 1.3 is on the verge of moving into sarge, whereas kde 3.3 will probably never make it. This is unfortunate since arts 1.3 is part of kde 3.3, and I expect the combination (arts 1.3 + kde 3.2) has not really been tested, either by debian or kde upstream. It thus seems prudent to keep arts out of sarge until we can verify whether this combination actually works and is stable. Bug#269038: kmail: "could not start process for newimap"

I think I was being generous by making them recommended since it actually appears to fit the definition of Suggests best: "installing this one [kmail] without them [kde*-kio-plugins] is perfectly reasonable" in the common case of getting mail from a local mbox file. And I certainly don't want it to be absolutely impossible to install kmail without kde{pim,base}-kio-plugins also being installed. Maybe I could add a blurb to the kmail description, though, that explains "To get mail from an IMAP server using kmail, you need to install kdepim-kio-plugins, and to get mail from a POP server, you need to install kdebase-kio-plugins". -- Daniel Schepler "Please don't disillusion me.
