Bug#567565: Please recommend fluid-soundfont-gm and let soundfont selection start in /usr/share/sound/sf2/

2010-01-29 Thread Petter Reinholdtsen

Package: qsynth
Version: 0.3.4-1
Severity: wishlist
User: debian-...@lists.debian.org
Usertags: debian-edu

When starting rosegarden with jackd and qsynth for the first time, the
only one of these packages requiring configuration to work is qsynth,
and the configuration it need is to select a sound font, and this is
rather hard for a new user as the start directory for the font
selection is not /usr/share/sound/sf2/ where the sound fonts are
located.

Please change the defaults for the menu option
"Setup->Soundfounts->Open" to be /usr/share/sound/sf2/ and let the
package recommend fluid-soundfont-gm to make sure a sound font is
installed by default when qsynth is installed.

It would also be great if qsynth was smart enough to look in the
/usr/share/sound/sf2/ directory and if there is only one sound font
present in that directory select that one automatically. It would make
it possible to get qsynth working out of the box without any
configuration.

We provide qsynth in Debian Edu along with a rosegarden howto found at
http://wiki.debian.org/DebianEdu/Documentation/Manuals/Rosegarden>,
and it would be great to shorten the recipe and get rosegarden working
without having to configure qsynth.

Happy hacking,

Petter Reinholdtsen

Bug#567572: opencryptoki: root is not added to pkcs11 group

2010-01-29 Thread Jeremy Zimmer
Subject: opencryptoki: root is not added to pkcs11 group
Package: opencryptoki
Version: 2.2.8+dfsg-3
Severity: important

*** Please type your report below this line ***

opencryptoki uses GID rather than EGID to test if the user is allowed to
initialize PKCS#11 tokens.

The easiest way to work around is to add root to the pkcs11 group in
postinst (directly after the group is created):

adduser root pkcs11

Already filed to Ubuntu:
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/opencryptoki/+bug/513048

System Information is from an Ubuntu Lucid Alpha 2 installation, but the
ubuntu isn't modifying the package, so I'm hoping it can be fixed in debian,
and then re-merged into Ubuntu.

Package: php5-exactimage
Version: 0.7.4-2
Severity: important
Usertags: ored-phpapi-dependency

Hi,

Your package builds a PHP extension and depends on phpapi-* but as an
ORed dependency.
This is incorrect and will break it on PHP transitions, such as the
soon-to-come PHP 5.3 transition.

Please note that in spite of the lintian warning about depending on a
virtual package, you should *NOT* add any of the php SAPIs (-cli,
-cgi, libapache-mod, etc -- and depending on php5-common is incorrect
too) as an ORed dependency to phpapi-. You could add an override if
you insist, but this will likely be handled on lintian's side in a
future version.

Please don't wait, fix it as soon as possible. It will cause problems
when the php 5.3 packages are uploaded to sid.

Thanks in advance.

Cheers,
