Bug#329156: gnome-pty-helper foo

2008-12-30 Thread Paul Szabo
On 12 Oct 2005 (a long time ago!) I wrote:

> I have not yet found any uses for utmp/wtmp ...

I found a (wrongful) use for it recently, /bin/login relies on ut_line
and chowns that to the user, see

  http://bugs.debian.org/505271

That is "not this bug", as this allows us to fake ut_host only...

Bug#510197: transcriber: Version 1.5.1.1-2 because of conflict with tk8.5

2008-12-30 Thread Fabrice Lorrain
Package: transcriber
Version: 1.5.1.1-1
Severity: normal

Hello Ralf,

For your information, since the upload of 1.5.1.1-2, I haven't been able to
upgrade transcriber.
The conflict with tk8.5 is costing to much :

I would appreciate if you could fix this, maybe with the suggestion at the end
of bts 484738, which
sum up with removing the conflict and ensuring that transcriber call whish8.4
directly.

Thanks and happy new year.

Package: sqlrelay-postgresql
Version: 1:0.36.4-4

While testing sqlrelay-postgresql, I found the following problem while
testing an upgrade from sarge to etch to sid:

2m3.1s ERROR: Package purging left files on system:
  /etc/sqlrelay.start

This happens with some other sqlrelay packages as well (-freetds,
-mysql, -odbc, -sqlite), but I'm only reporting it once. Unfortunately,
a quick grepping and reading of the source package did not indicate to
me where the problem is.

The piuparts log file is about 190 kilobytes, so I'm not attaching it to
save bandwidth, but if you think it would be helpful, I'd be happy to
mail it.

Hope this helps. Happy hacking.

When I use kscd to download cd information from the web, it cannot
store the information because the appropriate subdirectories of
/var/lib/cddb have not been created. They should include (but are
not limited to) /var/lib/cddb/country, /var/lib/cddb/folk,
/var/lib/cddb/rock, etc.

Bug#510274: mgp: Crashes with X BadMatch error

2008-12-30 Thread Peter De Wachter
Package: mgp
Version: 1.11b-7
Severity: grave

For every presentation I try to start (sample.mpg, sendmail6.mpg,
v6.mpg), mgp dies with an X error. I've reproduced this on several
systems (including one running pure testing). This might be the same
bug as #400105, though in that report the error message is
different. I can't reproduce this problem with mgp 1.13b-2 (the
version in unstable).

I get the following backtrace for "mgp -o sample.mgp". (I recompiled
mgp with debug info and added XSynchronize(display,True) calls.)
