Since IMO XMMS is often over-kill for playing simple sounds like
wav-files, I'd appreciate if "priority=3" was added to the audio/x-wav
line in /usr/lib/mime/packages/xmms.

The default priority is 5, lower is less important. More info
available on the update-mime man page.

This change would give xmms a two notch penalty relative to other
players that may be more suited to playing simple sounds. That would in
turn save me a lot of frustration when accessing my mailblocks.com
account, so this change would be much appreciated by me.

See also bug 244335.

Package beep-media-player has a Debian skin as default skin. It's
compatible with XMMS and it's quite nice and clear.

Making it the default skin for XMMS would also close bug #257010 ; but if
you don't want to make it the default skin, packaging it in xmms-skins would
also be nice.

Thanks for reading.

The "none" skin which XMMS displays by default is virtually unusable
for me, and I have reasonably good eyesight.

I'm sure it's very "cool" to emulate a low-contrast blue LED on black
plastic in an obscure lounge, but for those of us who just want to see
the name of the song we're listening to occasionally, and not be
particularly cool, it would be very useful indeed to include a
different skin, perhaps as an alternative, in the base package.

I'm aware of xmms-skins and am personally using a skin from that
add-on package, but I wouldn't bet a naive user would even understand
the meaning of "skin", and if you don't have any alternative skins
installed, they're not going to find out by playing around.

Only two of the alternatives in xmms-skins have a reasonable contrast
(specifically, Helix-Sawfish and minEguE) and it could be better still
-- a trivial black on white skin should be fairly simple to hack up
and not take a lot of room in the package.

I guess technical constraints prevent skins from using proper case
instead of HIDEOUS UPPER CASE in the song title when XMMS is minimized
so I won't bother to issue a separate bug report about that ...

Thanks for considering this,

/* era */

To: Christopher Martin <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>

Hi Chris,

My XMMS is a new install. Since I sent in the bug, I have managed to invoke
XMMS as a plug-in in Konqueror by clicking on the "listen" button on
various Shoutcast streams. XMMS takes about 1 to 2 minutes to
automatically connect to the shoutcast server at which point it plays
normally provided one does not click on the "play" button in the XMMS
 skin.

If "play" is clicked, XMMS shuts down. Bug report # 191536 on XMMS
mentioned XMMS freezing when "play" is clicked. So far, all I have tested
is XMMS on streaming audio. Haven't tried it on a cd yet or playlists.

Might be just a quirk of 64 bit "sarge" installation. Trying out Debian for
the first time on a new machine so still learning the ropes. Along with
SuSE, Debian is a great o/s. The less said about Windows XP Home Edition,
 the better.

Regards,

Felix B

Package: xmms

Lintian generates this error for my xmms package:

E: xmms: shlib-with-non-pic-code usr/lib/xmms/Input/libmpg123.so

Now, I don't think I understand why. Apparently, this plugin is compiled
with -fPIC all the way, as the attached build log clearly shows. The Lintian
check seems to parse the output of this:

objdump -hpT libmpg123.so

For this Perl regexp: (/^\s+\d+\s+\.rela?\.text/o), and that (I guess) gives
this (as of xmms 1.2.1-2):

3378 ld .rel.text

I'll blindly believe that the check is okay, since that plugin, unlike
others, has this:

  TEXTREL 0x0

I was told to grep for the rel.txt in the object files, but...

[EMAIL PROTECTED]:~/deb/xm/xmms-1.2.1/Input/mpg123]% objdump -hp *.lo | egrep
'rela?\.text'
[EMAIL PROTECTED]:~/deb/xm/xmms-1.2.1/Input/mpg123]%

...nothing. Maybe it's pulling in that thing through some other library it
links with?

% for k in $(for j in $(for i in -lgtk -lgdk -lgmodule -lgthread -lglib
-lpthread -ldl -lXi -lXext -lX11 -lm -lpthread; do d=lib`echo $i | sed
s/-l//`.so; echo $d; done); do locate /$j | egrep -v '.so.|libc1'; done); do
objdump -hpT $k | egrep 'rela?\.text' && echo "   ^^  $i"; done
%

[yes, i know that was sick and ugly and pointless :)]

All of the .lo files are "LSB relocatable" and the resulting libmp123.so is
"LSB shared object", which should mean that the -fPIC setting is working.

There haven't been any problems reported with the package due to this. Yet.

Any kind soul who understands shared libraries better, please help.

Hello to all!

We're glad to inform you that the first version of NoteEdit released by
a new developing team (http://noteedit.berlios.de) is ready. Since you
are the official maintainers (according to apt-cache show noteedit) of
the Debian package, we'd be interested if you could update the existing
2.7.1 version. Some major changes since the old 2.7.3 version include:
- - rests can have fermatas
- - many improvements in LilyPond export filter (many bugs squashed, 2.4.x
syntax compatible, bar numbers printed in non-first voices, much nicer
outlook of the file)
- - added Slovenian translation
- - many bugs and some startup crashes concerning ALSA fixed

Best regards!

I notice that your application lacks an icon. For the Debian package please
could you create a 32x32 pixel XPM in /usr/share/pixmaps/noteedit.xpm and
reference it from /usr/lib/menu/noteedit by adding this:

icon="/usr/share/pixmaps/noteedit.xpm"

For more information, please refer to the updated Debian Policy:
http://www.debian.org/doc/packaging-manuals/menu.html/ch3.html#s3.7
This will ensure that your nice icon shows up in most menus.

If you're not graphically inclined, I'm prepared to create a suitable icon and
submit a menufile patch into the bargain. Please email me with your
requirements if this is the case.

Thanks for taking the time to deal with this, and thanks for all the effort you
have put in to maintaining great free software.

Hi,

attached you will find an update of the German PO file de.po.

Note that this is a semi automatic created mail which contains all issues I
found during checking most of Debians German PO files. This includes also
encoding but mostly typo fixes. Please contact upstream for non-native
Debian packages to incorporate the changes (even if Debians version is old)
since I noticed that the same errors are made again and again over all
packages.

Jens

Lilypond export of this version of Noteedit is not compatible with

upgrading to version 2.7.4 from

Package: noteedit
Version: 2.7.1-2
Severity: grave
Tags: sid

Hello,

This is a grave bug filed against your package because it depends on
libqt3c102-mt, which no longer exists, thus rendering yor package
uninstallable in unstable. As part of the C++ ABI transition, this
library has moved to the libqt3-mt package.

Simply recompiling and uploading your package should be enough to fix
this; as per this mail [1], you need not bump your Qt, kdelibs or aRts
build-dependencies. Beware, though, that that may not be the case for
all the involved librares. Also, make sure that you build the package
in an up to date and clean sid environment, so that final dependencies
are correct. Please do this as soon as possible in order to accelerate
  the Qt/KDE transition to testing.

[1] http://lists.debian.org/debian-devel-announce/2005/09/msg0.html

Perhaps you find that your package fails to compile with gcc4. If
that's the case, there's probably a bug about it in the BTS, and it
may include a patch. If not (or if you have doubts about the
correctness of the patch), you may be able to find a fix in upstream's
CVS, or in the Ubuntu distribution. If your package fails only in arm,
m68k, and hppa, see instructions in the above mail.

Finally, if there's a strong reason for which your package should not
be NMUed, please note so in this bug report. Prospective NMUers will
read your reasoning, and will decide if it's strong enough to delay
  their upload.

Thanks for your cooperation, and happy hacking!

P.S.: There may be an already reported bug against this package for
this very same reason. I've checked for that, and will be merging the
bugs soon. The reason for still filing this bug was to have the
opportunity of including the small bits of information above. I
  apologize for the inconvenience.

Bug#121201: sexy date site that doesn't costs a dime

2005-09-18 Thread Mariana Butcher
Yo pal

You'll never guess what happened to me on sunday.

Basically found horny date site that doesn't costs a dime.

So many females are there messaging and meeting eachother.

And I think there is someone (or more than one) for you.

Although most of them want one-nighters, there are also those who like it
serious.

this message is for confirmation ;~)
