inform-mode override disparity

2005-09-12 Thread Debian Installer
There are disparities between your recently accepted upload and the
override file for the following file(s):

inform-mode_1.5.8-1_all.deb: package says priority is extra, override says
optional.

Either the package or the override file is incorrect. If you think
the override is correct and the package wrong please fix the package
so that this disparity is fixed in the next upload. If you feel the
override is incorrect then please reply to this mail and explain why.

[NB: this is an automatically generated mail; if you replied to one
like it before and have not received a response yet, please ignore
this mail. Your reply needs to be processed by a human and will be in
due course, but until then the installer will send these automated
mails; sorry.]

I think extra is more correct because the package fits in the
"specialized requirements" category.

Thanks,

Matej

leakbug override disparity

2005-09-12 Thread Debian Installer
There are disparities between your recently accepted upload and the
override file for the following file(s):

libleakbug-dev_0.1.5-4_i386.deb: package says section is devel, override says
libdevel.

Bug#107808: fixed

2005-09-12 Thread Debian Archive Maintenance
We believe that the bug you reported is now fixed; the following
package(s) have been removed from unstable:

  diskless | 0.3.18.0.5 | source, all
diskless-image-secure | 0.3.18.0.5 | all
diskless-image-simple | 0.3.18.0.5 | all

Note that the package(s) have simply been removed from the tag
database and may (or may not) still be in the pool; this is not a bug.
The package(s) will be physically removed automatically when no suite
references them (and in the case of source, when no binary references
it). Please also remember that the changes have been done on the
master archive (ftp-master.debian.org) and will not propagate to any
mirrors (ftp.debian.org included) until the next cron.daily run at the
earliest.

Packages are never removed from testing by hand. Testing tracks
unstable and will automatically remove packages which were removed
from unstable when removing them from testing causes no dependency
problems.

Bugs which have been reported against this package are not automatically
removed from the Bug Tracking System. Please check all open bugs and
close them or re-assign them to another package if the removed package
was superseded by another one.

Thank you for reporting the bug, which will now be closed. If you
have further comments please address them to [EMAIL PROTECTED]

Bug#327940: noteedit: uninstallable; needs rebuild for the Qt/KDE transition

2005-09-12 Thread Adeodato Simó
Package: noteedit
Version: 2.7.1-2
Severity: grave
Tags: sid

Hello,

This is a grave bug filed against your package because it depends on
libqt3c102-mt, which no longer exists, thus rendering yor package
uninstallable in unstable. As part of the C++ ABI transition, this
library has moved to the libqt3-mt package.

Simply recompiling and uploading your package should be enough to fix
this; as per this mail [1], you need not bump your Qt, kdelibs or aRts
build-dependencies. Beware, though, that that may not be the case for
all the involved librares. Also, make sure that you build the package
in an up to date and clean sid environment, so that final dependencies
are correct. Please do this as soon as possible in order to accelerate
  the Qt/KDE transition to testing.

[1] http://lists.debian.org/debian-devel-announce/2005/09/msg0.html

Perhaps you find that your package fails to compile with gcc4. If
that's the case, there's probably a bug about it in the BTS, and it
may include a patch. If not (or if you have doubts about the
correctness of the patch), you may be able to find a fix in upstream's
CVS, or in the Ubuntu distribution. If your package fails only in arm,
m68k, and hppa, see instructions in the above mail.

Finally, if there's a strong reason for which your package should not
be NMUed, please note so in this bug report. Prospective NMUers will
read your reasoning, and will decide if it's strong enough to delay
  their upload.

Thanks for your cooperation, and happy hacking!

P.S.: There may be an already reported bug against this package for
this very same reason. I've checked for that, and will be merging the
bugs soon. The reason for still filing this bug was to have the
opportunity of including the small bits of information above. I
  apologize for the inconvenience.

Hi,

Sorry no one got back to you sooner, guppi is still unmaintained.

The current version of libguppi-dev doesn't contain HTML documentation
or copies of the FDL.

Thanks,

Version: 0.40.2-8
Severity: normal

The upgrade from the previous version (which used python 2.2) leaves
some (autogenerated methinks) files around:

~# find /usr/lib/python2.2/site-packages/Guppi -type f
/usr/lib/python2.2/site-packages/Guppi/__init__.pyo
/usr/lib/python2.2/site-packages/Guppi/data_impl/__init__.pyo
/usr/lib/python2.2/site-packages/Guppi/plot/__init__.pyo

Since this happens to a lot of python packages, maybe a general
solution would be good. Until then ...

Hi,

Sorry no one got back to you sooner, guppi is still unmaintained.

Anyway, since Debian no longer supports upgrades from potato, there's
nothing we can do about this.

Thanks,

Matej

The attached patch removes the Build-Depends on 'libdb3-dev'
from debian/control. It is not necessary and 'libdb3-dev'
has problems on the amd64 and ppc64 architectures.

Our automated buildd log filter[1] detected a problem that will cause
your package to segfault on architectures where the size of a pointer is
greater than the size of an integer, such as ia64.

guppi_seq_boolean_new() isn't defined in any header files I can find. I
do see a guppi_seq_boolean_new_aligned in
src/libguppidata/guppi-seq-boolean.c, but it is wrapped in an #ifdef 0.

Google finds a suggested fix here:
  http://mail.gnome.org/archives/guppi-list/2004-February/msg2.html
Though I can't remark on its correctness. The patch below implements
this suggestion and has been compile-tested.

Package: laptop-netconf
Version: 0.9.6

There is a bug in laptop-netconf (both version 0.9.6 in testing/unstable,
and version 0.9-1.1 in woody) which can cause two different hardware
addresses to compare as equal.

laptop_netconf uses
strncmp (cycle->hardware_address, arp_header->ar_sha, 6)
to compare hardware addresses. However, it is not uncommon for
MAC addresses to contain null bytes, especially in the first or
second position. In such cases, subsequent bytes will not be
looked at by strncmp().

The fix? Use memcmp() instead.

Version: uninstallable
Severity: important

twutils is now built against libtw0, that is waiting for approval (being
a NEW pkg).

In the meantime, to test the new version of twin-0.5.1 and libtw0 (for
i386 only, sorry), pkgs are available here:

deb http://people.debian.org/~zufus twin/

Marco
