Bug#311002: metamail should provide mmencode as a synonym for mimencode
> A part of the message is missing... Which programs? At least mime.el and mime-compose.el, somewhat elderly extensions for Emacs. Perhaps not high priority as better alternatives exist for mime composition in Emacs, and these files could also be simply patched to remove the problem. If this is the mime.el from flim, the current version seems to use mmencode only with XEmacs, where it is included in xemacs21-bin. Otherwise it appears to use utilities from mime-codecs. Is mime-compose.el packaged for Debian? > and these files could also be simply patched to remove the problem. I think that would be best; mmencode was removed from metamail almost seven years ago.
