What exactly do you "feel" is need to be checked on those 2 patch series?

Re: RFS: openteacher

2011-01-28 Thread Arvind S Raj
Hello,
Well I have applied to join collab-maint so that I can upload the packaging
there and was told it could take up to a week. So just had a thought why
wait till then if changes could be made meanwhile. I have updated the
packaging to include the watch file and the VCS fields(which are currently
invalid) in debian/control. Please do review (
http://mentors.debian.net/debian/pool/main/o/openteacher) and suggest any
changes required. I will upload the packaging to alioth soon as front desk
approves my request to join collab-maint.

RFS: downtimed

2011-01-28 Thread Mats Erik Andersson
Dear mentors,

I am looking for a sponsor of the package "downtimed".

  Package name: downtimed
  Version : 0.4-1
  Upstream Author : EPIPE Communications
  URL : http://dist.epipe.com/downtimed/
  License : FreeBSD
  Section : admin

It builds a single binary package:
downtimed - monitor of downtime, shutdown, and crashes

The package appears to be pedantically lintian clean.
It has been tested on i386 and kfreebsd-amd64.

The upload would fix this bug: 607684

My motivation for maintaining this package is:

  Having a handful systems for development, all being
  brought up and then down irregularly, makes the usefulness
  of a monitor of shutdown times become clear. Almost more
  important is such a monitor on mission critical systems,
  in order to accurately record any service failure time.

The package can be found on mentors.debian.net:
- URL: http://mentors.debian.net/debian/pool/main/d/downtimed
- Source repository: deb-src http://mentors.debian.net/debian unstable main
- dget
http://mentors.debian.net/debian/pool/main/d/downtimed/downtimed_0.4-1.dsc

It would please me to see someone examine this package,
and the end also upload it to the NEW queue.

Best regards
 Mats Erik Andersson, DM

RFS: gnome-icon-theme-faenza

2011-01-28 Thread Adnan Hodzic
* Package name: faenza-icon-theme
  Version : 0.8-1
  Upstream Author : Matthieu James matthieu.ja...@gmail.com
* URL : http://tiheum.deviantart.com/art/Faenza-Icons-173323228
* License : GPL3
  Section : gnome

It builds these binary packages:
gnome-icon-theme-faenza - Faenza Icon Theme

The package appears to be lintian clean.

The upload would fix these bugs: 595106

My motivation for maintaining this package is: I already said pretty
much all of it in
http://lists.debian.org/debian-mentors/2011/01/msg00392.html

I listened to and did what Julien told me to do, in tarball there's a
original tarball with all the files, while the whole procedure of
setting up GNOME main menu icons and rest of the configuration for
Arch Linux, Debian, Fedora, Frugalware, Linux Mint, OpenSuse, Mandriva
and Ubuntu through a script called Faenza Setup Script which I placed
into postinst. Read the rest of it in changelog and README.Debian.

Hopefully it's get uploaded this time since I put a lot of effort into it.

The package can be found on mentors.debian.net:
- URL: http://mentors.debian.net/debian/pool/main/g/gnome-icon-theme-faenza
- Source repository: deb-src http://mentors.debian.net/debian unstable
main contrib non-free
- dget
http://mentors.debian.net/debian/pool/main/g/gnome-icon-theme-faenza/gnome-icon-theme-faenza_0.8-1.dsc

I would be glad if someone uploaded this package for me.

Kind regards
 Adnan Hodzic

RFS: python-gearman

2011-01-28 Thread Oxan van Leeuwen
Dear mentors,

I am looking for a sponsor for my package "python-gearman".

* Package name: python-gearman
  Version : 2.0.2-1
  Upstream Author : Matthew Tai
* URL : http://github.com/mtai/python-gearman/
* License : Apache 2.0
  Section : python

It builds these binary packages:
python-gearman - Python interface to the Gearman library

The package appears to be lintian clean.

The upload would fix these bugs: 610654

My motivation for maintaining this package is that I'm a heavy user of it myself
and that it would be great to have a simple-to-use interface to Gearman from
Python in Debian. There's also the python-gearman.libgearman package, but this
package is a lot easier to use and it has better documentation.

The package can be found on mentors.debian.net:
- URL: http://mentors.debian.net/debian/pool/main/p/python-gearman
- Source repository: deb-src http://mentors.debian.net/debian unstable main
contrib non-free
- dget
http://mentors.debian.net/debian/pool/main/p/python-gearman/python-gearman_2.0.2-1.dsc

I would be glad if someone uploaded this package for me.

Please CC me on replies as I'm not on the list.

Kind regards,
  Oxan van Leeuwen

Would you consider joining[1] the debian python modules team (aka
DPMT) and maintain this package under the team umbrella? I might be
interested in the package, so if you choose the team, you'd probably
already find a sponsor :)

I've created a join-request for the DPMT on Alioth. When approved, I'll inject
the package into the SVN repository (as described on the wiki) and change the
Maintainer field. Anything else I may have missed? (I've already worked with
svn-
buildpackage, so that shouldn't be a problem).

Thanks,
Oxan

You need to provide a source package. It would also help if you provided
a description of the package, filed an ITP bug, told us what programming
language it is implemented in, and why you think it ought to be in
debian. You might find the templates on mentors.debian.net helpful.
To file an ITP bug, type "reportbug wnpp" on your debian system and
follow the prompts.

Hope this helps,

David
